It was okay at best. My first impression of "Best Ceviche Ever" as I walked is was very positive, the decor seemed modern at first glance. As I was seated I literally fell through my chair. The furniture is made of a cheap plastic patio-esque material, and the seat to my chair had been placed on incorrectly which resulted in me falling through! But no matter, that didn't bother me.
My waitress was an older female and although my companion and I were the only people in the entire restaurant the woman was disorganized and seemed to be a bit scatter brained.
We ordered a Ceviche mixto, calamari, and fried rice mixto. The Ceviche mixto and calamari came out first. The calamari was rubbery and only consisted of sliced mantel pieces (no tentacles), it was generic and could have been tastier if it wasn't nuked in the fryer. The Ceviche mixto comes in a very small portion. I've been to many Peruvian restaurants in Miami and can assure you that this ceviche is nothing special. We had three pieces of shrimp, and awkwardly cut mushy pieces of fish, squid, and one mussel. The ceviche had been curing too long, the fish was over cooked. It felt as if they has made a large batch of ceviche and scooped out the remnants from the bottom of the container and served it to us. Simply unpleasant.
Although we asked to have everything to be served at once. The fried rice mixto came out nearly 20 minutes after we had finished the ceviche and calamari. The rice was dry and brittle. Almost like when you cook rice and leave it in the fridge, the term "dehydrated" comes to mind. The rice tasted old and had tiny, and I mean tiny, pieces of beef, chicken, shrimp, and egg. The entire dish probably had less than 2.5 oz of meat.
Overall experience was poor. Unfortunately the five star ratings are probably from the friends and family of the business owners. If you're really looking from good peruvian food try venturing...

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming Peruvian restaurant, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way! The moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a warm, family atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
The food? Absolutely phenomenal! Every dish is cooked to order, ensuring that each bite is fresh, flavorful, and full of love. Standouts included the Arroz con Mariscos (rice, beer, shrimp, scallops), which was nothing short of delicious, and the Jalea (fried fish, shrimp, scallops, and Yuka), which was crispy perfection.
But what truly sets this restaurant apart is its exceptional service. Our waiter, Jose, was a consummate professional – knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about sharing the nuances of Peruvian cuisine with us newcomers.
And don't even get me started on the sangria... Outstanding!

Read moreBeautiful open dinning area, very traditional and clean. Loved the outside seating, it was a beautiful day when we were there. Service was very friendly and quick. Now to the food, we started out by getting a pitcher of Chicha (purple corn drink)for the both of us, good, sweet and refreshing. They bring out a little cup with fried corn bits to munch on while you wait. I went ahead and ordered what I always get in any Peruvian restaurant, Ceviche and Lomo Saltado. The Ceviche I ordered medium-spice and it was absolutely delicious! Fresh lime juices, fresh cilantro, these people really serve up to their name. The Lomo Saltado was also spectacular, flavorful with fresh ingredients and the meat was very tender. Lastly we tried one of the alfajores which is a little pastry with manja blanco in the middle (it's a little cookie sandwich, yummy) I highly recommend Best Ceviche Ever. It is now my favorite local Peruvian cuisine restaurante. New ownership is 2 months in, hope...
