Lunch specials at $5.99 for Quarter Chicken Rice & Beans are gone. The cheapest combo offered is now $8.49 ($9.09 w/tax) for quarter chicken & 2 sides. With that change, the place quickly turned into a ghost town. I don't see FHP, LEO's, or city workers eating here much anymore. 🤔 This is a place where you expect a cheap lunch, but 99% of the menu is priced like it's fine dining. Most of the expensive $16 - $20 items on this menu taste like it's from a middle school cafeteria. The $12 grilled chicken salad is an insult to your intelligence regarding what food should cost and what the definition of "grill" is. Anything "grilled" at LA brassa is just an electric iron searing lines into the food. Imagine cooking your chicken and putting it directly on the iron coils of your electric range stovetop, then point to the burn marks and say "it's grilled". In reality, it's sautéed and burned for decoration. Without a cheap lunch special, this place is useless to me. The same money gets you a lot nicer meals in the area.
Edit: 7/27/22: The pizza shop in this plaza went on vacation. So I needed to make a quick choice on my lunch hour. Begrudgingly, I went to this place again because I knew it would be fast. Wrong! They had everyone parking and waiting for their food in their car with gas at $5 gallon you're about to have an expensive lunch. I got chicken wings and fries $12.83. People working here for an hour can't afford this horrible meal. They were all put in the same moisture sealed box. The fries were gumy soft, bland, and downright nasty from their chicken wing steam bath in the box. The frozen section of a dollar store has higher quality and better workers. I asked for ketchup and they did not include that with my order. So I had to park and walk inside to get it after waiting 15 minutes in my car during a 94 degree day. This place sucks. It sucks your time, your money, and your happiness. Frustration and disappointment...
Read moreAte here for the first time tonight. From the moment we walked in the guy at the counter was so friendly and helpful. The food was better than we expected. I had the 1/4 chicken with sweet plantains and mixed vegetables. I also ordered a side of the garlic potato’s and the chicken noodle soup. My Hubbie ordered the steak with Caesar salad and fries. I will say that the chicken was good. It would have been a little better if it had been hotter. The sweet plantains had been around for a bit but I could tell that when fresh they were really good. The chicken noodle soup had a little too much spice for me but it was good. This is the kind of soup you would want if you were sick. The garlic potato’s were the star of the whole show! Absolutely amazing and so tender. The mixed vegetables were plentiful but how much can one eat? They included cauliflower, carrots and broccoli. My husbands steak was low quality but a large piece. The fries were cooked to perfection! The salad was fine but ignored since there was so much food. Hubbie had a soda and I do not drink when eating so nothing for me. Total was $33 and change. I know that seems like a lot but we got A LOT of food. The service was superb! The guy at the counter (sorry I didn’t get your name but you really made it extra special) answered all our questions as I said before it was our first time. He didn’t get agitated with us or rush us. He came by our table to check on us and see if we liked our food. We will...
Read moreWe decided to come here since its suppose be a better version of LA GRANJA. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Food tasted weird, like propane gas, small portion, no presentation, absolutely nothing like the images, which is expected, but i mean.. NOTHING like the images, if it wasn't for the side sauce i requested (which, by the way, also tasted awful), it wouldn't have flavor, and the price was way too high for quality this bad.
Guava and mango juice were in a very small bottle (which they dont specify in their drive thru menu). Their mini churros were over price, and the portion were super small. Did I come across a restaurant specifically for little people? Never ever again. The only good thing about this place is the friendly service, other than that, it's a definite no for me.
LA GRANJA, im sorry for cheating on you. I'll be back to...
