We went to Josie's to celebrate are 25th wedding anniversary on Thursday 17th and I have to admit we were disappointed. We started with Josie's Fry Calamari and when it came, the presentation was nice until we noticed that the Scampi sauce was all on the bottom of the plate and not on the side. So that meant half was Crispy and the other half was mooshaad. Then we ordered our main courses and basically it was mind that was very disappointing. I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese and when it came out by a another waiter/busboy I was taking back when I didn't see any Bolognese. When I finally to a fork to it, I found little crumbles of meat on the bottom of the bowl. We were both shocked, that who ever was working the line in the kitchen would let that out. So finally we were able to get another waiter and asked him to get ours who was Marco, I usually ask for a Manager and I should have. Well Marco finally came to the table, I showed him what was presented to me and he to couldn't believe what he saw. He took my bowl back to the kitchen and I had to wait 10-15 minutes until he came back out it. That's when I asked him, can you please tell me how any Chef/Manager would let that bowl out of the kitchen but I got no answer. Than I noticed what he brought me out was a Meatball chopped up. If I wanted Spaghetti and Meatballs I would order it and for the price it was very disappointing. So finally me and my wife ordered dessert, she got Tiramisu I got what resemble a Cannoli. All I know I have eaten a Few Cannolis in my day and this was not one. Even had my wife tried it because I thought maybe it was me because I was still upset about my dinner but my wife agreed with me. So in closing we asked for the check and I noticed nothing was taken off or discounted. What really perturb me was that No Manager ever came over and that's a shame because my other in-laws are going to celebrate their anniversary and they wanted to...
Read moreEarly last evening my husband and I went to our favorite restaurant in town, Josie’s, after a busy day. We’ve been going to Josie’s for the six years we’ve been living in Boynton Beach usually for Happy Hour, and have always loved the food, service and ambience. Yesterday was different. The service was not typical of what we’ve been experiencing at Josie’s for six years. Tim, our waiter, was rude and flippant. My husband ordered his usual pizza which we’ve been told practically every time he orders it, that it will be longer than the rest of the dishes. This time the pizza came out almost immediately. 20 minutes later as my husband was working on his last piece of pizza, I still had not been served. Tim finally came over and I said to him that I haven’t been served yet and was not happy about it. I had ordered a Caesar salad and Chicken Parm. The salad wasn’t even brought out. Tim, sounding annoyed, told me that during Happy Hour the dishes came out when they came out and it was impossible to bring them out all at the same time. He was pretty nasty about it. We have never had a problem with our dinners not being brought out all together. And when we do, we are warned that there is some problem etc. He didn’t even apologize for the delay. He then stormed away. Another 10 minutes went by and my salad was brought over. Another 5 minutes and my Chicken was finally served at a total of about 35 minutes after my husband’s pizza. Tim ignored us for the rest of the meal. This was so untypical of our experiences in the past at this restaurant and has put a really bad taste in our mouths. We were going to splurge and have their delicious and decadent chocolate layer cake, but decided not to. We don’t think that we will be back any time soon. It’s too bad, as we do love the place and had signed up for getting points for...
Read moreWow what a spot! The food was truly unbelievable, but the service was somehow even more spectacular. So before I get into the food, I need to comment on the service team we had. The minute he walked up to the table we remarked on how much energy our server, Tate, had. It was the end of a long day but he really perked us up and brought a positive, upbeat vibe to the table. It definitely added to the dining experience. He was the perfect mix of respectful but friendly, and had some great recommendations re: food and drink. We also (unintentionally) tested his patience a bit taking a while to order and he was so patient and polite. It was a great experience. Thanks Tate!
We also had a great support staff by the name of Raihjhu who doubled as a stand up entertainer. Comedy, dance, a little song - but again.. just a great energy.
The Chef/Owner came out at the end of the meal to see how we enjoyed, a great finishing touch on what was already a superb customer service experience.
As for food..... We tried the Meatballs, Caprese Salad, Pizza, Salmon, Lasagna, and the OUTSTANDING Beggar's Purse. Meatballs tasted like my Nonna's - super traditional and flavorful Make sure you get the Caprese with the Prosciutto, outstanding presentation on a traditional dish The Pizza needs no words. Thin crust, plentiful toppings. But the best of it all was the 'Beggars Purse' pasta. Words can't do it justice. Pasta stuffed with 4 cheeses. Truffle, Pear, Tallegio Cheese make up the sauce. I'm not sure who dreamt up this combo but I'm wondering where it's been my entire life. One of the best pasta's (particularly the sauce) that...
