Very solid 4 but could easily be 5 stars with a couple of improvements.
Positives: Great vibe Friendly, attentive staff Comprehensive menu Impressive and unique margarita menu Delicious fresh salsa Tasty carne asada burrito Outstanding fried ice cream - maybe the best I've had
Why ony 4 stars? Staff training. We ordered an appetizer and specifically asked to have it first. The app was dropped off and we realized it was not the right one. Less than a minute later the server came back with our entree (way too soon) so we pointed out the mistake and told him to just cancel the appetizer since we already had our entree. However he came back with the correct one anyway and I didn't feel like arguing about it. Would have been nice to get a discount or something for the mistake but whatever.
Overcooked scallops. The above mentioned appetizer was a scallop tostada thing that was delicious but scallops are delicate and easy to overcook. If they would cook the scallops a bit less this would be an amazing appetizer.
This seems to be a newer restaurant so some issues are to be expected. If they iron those out this would easily be 5 stars. I would definitely...
Read moreWhere do I begin to explain why I love this place?! Besides the fact that I love seeing mi amigo, Jose!!! He makes everything top notch there. Cherry on top. The food is the best and enjoyed in the comfortable exciting atmosphere. The Mexican music adds to the ambience. After a long day at work I like to have my dinner with one of their margaritas. That's when it all comes together. But ultimately, you're there for the food. My favorites are the chicken tortilla soup and carne asada. You just have to try it to see why they're my faves. I even call for take out and somebody always answers the phone. Great service! I really like Lupita. Her and Jose are wonderful. They make you feel like family. The whole experience is terrific. I have a restaurant right down the street and it's a casual fast food place. But if I ever wanted it to be a place to offer a full line of good cuisine and be a full service restaurant, I'd say I would be inspired by Mezcalitos. The place is like I would like it for myself. You won't be disappointed! The prices are a bit more than average but it's totally worth it I think. There's good quality food being served....
Read moreVisited for the first time on a Friday night. Music was loud! Then there must've been issues with the sound system because it made a super loud crazy noise for at least a minute straight. Everyone clapped when they turned it off. Was seated right away even though it was busy, but had to wait a bit until our server came. Ordered a water and margarita with no salt right away. Waiter came back and took our food order. Then our food arrived and I still didn't have my margarita. He said it was next. A lady brought it over and it had salt on the rim. She was kind and made me a new one quickly. Once we got our food/drinks our waiter didn't check in until we finally flagged another server to let him know we wanted our check. My friend had pulled out cash and the waiter asked if she wanted change and she said yes and then he walked away for some reason (without the cash) and we had to flag him down and remind him change was needed. On top of all that, I wasn't really impressed with the food. Won't be going back unfortunately. Bummed because it has such great reviews, but we had a poor...
