My name is Sarah and i came into this restaurant with my boyfriend on 8/ 24 around 3pm. This is the first review i have ever left about a restaurant in my 26 years of living in Franklin. This was my favortie restaurant and i've come here numerous times over the years. I wanted to try one of the new alcoholic beverages. I'm already in my purse grabbing my ID in preparation when the server says in a rude tone " I'm going to need to see some ID." I was met with hesitation and she tells me that she needs to go to the back to double check. I say “no problem do what you need to do." I had no issue with this at first because I'm use to the "you look young" glance but not young enough to look like a teenager which is why I’m always met with niceness and respect.
It was what happened next that didn’t sit well with me. I understand that restaurants have to be careful with these situations and thats fine. That was not the experience i encountered. WIthout an introduction or even a hello a woman is standing at my table who i now know is the manager. Immediatley says to me " how when and where did you get this star." Her tone, demanour, and lack of manners told me all i needed to know. She had already decided that something was wrong with my ID. She wasn't just asking questions, she was interrogating me. Already decided in her mind that I’m up to something or my ID is void somehow.
Let me ask you this, if you suspect something is wrong with an ID do you go to the source or ask someone within the establishment if you aren't sure? Her lack of training on ID's quickly became MY problem somehow.
Only once i stood up for myself did she back off (in a fake manner, not genuine)I decided to leave because of how uncomfrotable I was because i was made to feel i had done something wrong.
Her name is JENNY WALST or atleast that's what we were told. She has brown hair, glasses, and was wearing a green shirt. My boyfriend called 30 minutes later asking for the name. They assumed it was us which is why they were hesitant to give it out. I'm already in the processs of speaking with the necessary people for something like this. I wanted to leave this review because I don’t want someone else to have the same experience. This lady does not need to be in a management role.
I recorded the conversation of us asking for the name and i have no problem coming in for verfication of my...
Read moreI was here recently to place a to go order for Postmates, was greeted by a worker in the to go area and told them why I was there, and they told me to come in when ready to place an order. The gesture was very welcoming and I told the lady thank you. Next, I walk into the to go ordering area, and some manager guy, slender with glasses and a beard about 5ft9in, proceeded to grill me about how we don't do 3rd party orders while yelling at me about how I need to tell my boss to stop, or he will get the lawyers involved... I immediately told this guy that I had no idea about what he was talking about, and I'm just the pickup guy who was given an order request to do a pickup. He continued running off at the mouth about whatever drama he had with 3rd party services, and kept threatening me like I was the one who did him wrong. I never yelled, raised my voice, or even gave this dude any type of negative impression to come at me like a total clown the way he acted. The other employees stood there in shock but said nothing and I immediately left, so that I wouldn't knock this guy out for the way he talked to me. Needless to say, I am sending this long message because just last night, this same guy pulled right up at the gas station next to me the very next night after leaving outback because he had a green shirt on with Outback stitched on it, but haf NO CLUE I was the guy he talked crazy to just the night before, and was way out of line taking his frustrations out on me. I had already had a long day, and was starting my late night runs with food delivery when I encountered this dude who has forever put a stain on me ever coming back to this restaurant for anything. He should really rethink life if he lets the job get to him like it did that night, especially if he thinks its okay to talk to customers the way he did, and having NO IDEA the very next night those people may end up seeing him in the streets, and will retaliate on him....luckily for this guy, I don't repay evil for evil, I just let people go and let GOD handle them. I hope this guy has a better day, but as for me and everybody I know, I won't tell them to go to a place where the management is THIS level of disrespectful. Outback, check your boy out and make sure he's really cut out for the work he does, because clearly hard times must be consuming his...
Read moreSo disappointed these days when I go to Outback. So it's Sunday evening, no one waiting in the lobby, one staff member sees us but decides spraying a table down is more important than talking to us. Finally he comes over to drop off some menus at the hostess stand, still doesn't talk to us , my wife seeing that he isn't planning to ask us if he can help says would we be able to be seated, We called ahead, what name he asks ..Fox she says. He says no one of that name, she asks any name starting with F by chance , he says we have a faxes..... For 3 people she asks, yep he says, she goes did you take that call, he said yes, she said that's us. He says oh, then seats us. OH MY! We order drinks , I start to give the server my dinner order but my wife and son are still discussing what they want , she says quite understandably let me get your drinks then I'll take your order. Drinks come quickly. ( Their strawberry lemonade is excellent) But someone else delivered them to our table so we don't see our actual server to take our order for a fair while enough time that I start to get a little annoyed, I don't know how long though. Foods ok. Coconut battered shrimp, half the size they used to be at twice the price, but you get 8 instead of 6. Very little coconut in the batter, the peppery marmalade that comes with it is also changed, runnier, not as spicy and less orange taste. The outback specials as always were spot on 2 8 oz cooked medium for the wife and son. Very nice. The butter that comes with the brad now, not very nice. Not the light whipped butter they used to provide. Long Wait to get the check but she forgot we got the 3 course special with the desserts, ( she said, yeah I always forget the desserts on that special) so she had to re-ring the ticket. Took another long wait for the server to come back to pick up and run our card. ( No they weren't that busy) I realize staffing is a huge issue in the restaurant biz, but come on. Plus the manager speed walking everywhere whether he knew it or not acting like he was so busy, gave off a frantic vibe that wasn't calming at all. Maybe it was me that was the issue??? But my food and the way we're ignored when we got there just soured the experience for me. I doubt I'll be back. Which is sad as I have always...
