I've been to the Brentwood location 3 times and each time my experience was worst than the last.
First Time: Ordered the brown rice and quinoa with chicken bowl, Southern sauce style with no onions. Pros: 1)presentation looked great. 2)meat was shredded finely and 3) the food was hot. Cons: 1)onions was cooked with my food. I notified them of this and the cooks redid my order, this time without onions. 2) The Southern sauce tastes no where close to the Carolina sauce they were trying to mimic. I would know because that's where I'm from.
Overall, I would give the first experience a 3.5-4 star.
2nd Time: Ordered the same as first time except I choice the Asian sauce instead of the Southern sauce. Pros: 1)The Asian sauce was delicious and a much better option than the Southern. 2) Food was served hot. Cons: 1)Presentation was not as great as the first time. 2)Meat was hardly shredded.
I will say my friend ordered their pulled pork and Moroccan Sweet Potatoes. His pulled pork was shredded finely and the pork was delicious!! Juicy and flavorful.
Overall, I would give this experience a 3.5 star.
3rd Time: I ordered 2 orders of their pulled pork since it was so delicious the last time along with their pineapple express smoothie. Pros: The pineapple express smoothie was good. It didn't really excite me but it was still good. Cons: 1)Both orders of my pulled pork was barely shredded. Presentation was slack. 2) It was kind of dry and not as juicy as last time. 3)I was given less pulled pork than last time. 4) Food was barely warm. And I do mean BARELY.
I asked the cashier if they could recook and shred it some more. She said yes, but the men cooking laughed at my request and half did what was asked. Meat was still not as shredded and was not served hot the second time it was brought to me. This really disappointed me because if your food is made fresh than I expected the order to come out hot. I tried to eat it but I was no longer interested so I did not finish my food.
Overall, this experience was a 1 star.
Altogether, Revel Kitchen gets a 2.5 star rating because of the inconsistent service provided. I can't say that I will be visiting again...
Read moreMy friend Ms. A and I got to try this place last week and we quite enjoyed ourselves! It's so great to have another place when I can get o many paleo options!
We were both torn about what to get, so we decided to each get something different and share! All together we got Butternut Squash Curry Soup, Roasted Roots Bowl, Burger with bacon and Cauliflower Tots.
The Cauliflower tots were the least exciting. They were moist on the inside, but had a decent shell. But they didn't have a lot of flavor and needed some salt and pepper.
The Roosted Root bowl was lined tiny bits of chopped sweet potatoes, some beets mixed in, large slices of parsnips and covered with goat cheese! The pumpkin seeds provided a nice little crunch of texture to the bowl. This was delicious because how could it not be with all of these perfect ingredients?
Ms. A let me try some of the soup and it was fabulous! That would explain when there was very little left and they could only give her half a portion. But they were sweet enough to allow her to pick another side to have as well!
Lastly, the burger was pretty good. But I would order it with a side of bacon EVERY TIME! This was some of the most impressive bacon I have ever experienced! It was the thickest I have seen!! I can't wait to go back and...
Read moreI've been in St. Louis for 4 days and I've been to this place twice. I think it's an amazing balance of being delicious and healthy, reasonably priced, and friendly staff.
In particular the pork and braised beef are fantastic of the proteins I've tried, I'm sure the other options are good as well.
The mushrooms are amazing! The zucchini and sweet potatoes are delicious. The scrambled eggs taste like scrambled eggs but it's awesome that they have the option and you can do either whole or egg whites. The rice is delicious mixed with the mushrooms and braised beef. The beans are yummy with the eggs. The sauces are good but I've found the food so flavor and moist that it's totally unnecessary (and the garlic sauce tastes way too good to be healthy!! 🤣).
On a personal note, It's been a godsend as I've been on losing weight and there are times when I need a "cheat meal" that gives me a little more carbs, a little more calories, and lots of savory flavor, and doesn't leave me with all the regret and gastrointestinal distress of eating an entire dominos pizza like my inner fat kid would prefer! The large bowl does just that for me! Thank you for having such a...
