I am writing to bring public attention to a deeply disturbing and unprofessional encounter I experienced at one of your Smoothie King locations. This incident involved an employee whose conduct was not only blatantly rude and disrespectful, but also appeared to be racially motivated, and completely in conflict with basic standards of customer service and professionalism.
During my visit, I was informed that the location had run out of receipt paper. While I understand that operational issues may occur, the manner in which the situation was handled was entirely unacceptable. When I requested any form of receipt—whether digital, handwritten, or even an email confirmation—the employee flatly refused to provide one. This lack of documentation is not only poor business practice but raises concerns for customers who need proof of purchase for various reasons.
When I asked for the employee’s name to file a formal complaint, she aggressively responded, “I’m not telling you that.” This level of blatant disrespect, combined with her hostile demeanor, was completely inappropriate. Her refusal to identify herself made it impossible to report the issue accurately, which I believe was intentional.
To make matters worse, I immediately submitted a detailed report through the official Smoothie King website, expecting to hear back regarding this serious issue. To this day, I have received no response—not even an acknowledgment. The silence from your corporate team only reinforces the impression that this type of behavior is not just tolerated, but institutionally ignored.
The implications here are serious. When employees feel empowered to behave this way—especially when their conduct includes possible racial bias and deliberate obstruction—and when corporate fails to respond to complaints, it sends a clear message: this behavior is acceptable within the Smoothie King brand.
I am calling on Smoothie King to: Investigate this incident thoroughly and publicly confirm what actions, if any, were taken. Hold employees accountable for misconduct, including racial discrimination and refusal of service-related information. Improve your customer service training and escalation procedures. Reassess your internal complaint-handling processes, as customers deserve acknowledgment and resolution.
Until Smoothie King takes real action to address this issue and ensures that such behavior is not a reflection of its broader values, I will no longer be supporting your brand—and I urge others who value respect, equality, and accountability to reconsider doing business with you as well.

Read moreI've had good experiences here and some bad experiences, but overall, I've left happy. I usually order the strawberry hulk (huge # of calories to help me bulk up) which always tastes delicious. There are so many drink options for whatever you are looking for- bulk up, slim down, energize, vegan, or dairy-free. There are also several mix-ins you can add for extra energy, vitamins, or other health benefits. The drinks are always made to order, but I'm usually in and out in under 5 minutes. I once had an employee here make fun of me for ordering a large 2000 calorie smoothie with a fellow coworker. But every time since, I've been greeted right away and with no problems.
Tips: -If you are in a hurry, you can call your order in ahead of time so that it is ready when you arrive. -If you have their MySmoothie app, make sure you check before you order. About half the time there is a coupon for a discounted drink or a free add-in just for checking in. -Always ask for your receipt- there is always a $1 off coupon when you complete a survey. -Ask for a small or medium and you might get a larger size since there is always extra smoothie leftover in...
Read moreA couple years ago, I stopped going to this location after I saw an employee sitting on the countertop, her feet tucked underneath her and the bottoms of her dirty shoes on the work surface.
I figured I would try again. The evening of 4/26/22. As with my experiences before, the people behind the counter were curt and unpleasant.
My girlfriend and I each order smoothies with spinach and kale in them, among other things. They come out not looking the right color, and both tasting like they have ingredients missing.
Curious, I stopped by the Smoothie King off Forest Park on my way home, and I ordered the exact same smoothie. The pineapple spinach. It looked and tasted completely different.
In the picture, the green smoothie is the one from the Forest Park location, which was great. The other is the one from this location, which tasted like bananas and ice.
Won't...
