The staff here is amazing! The waitress Anastasia was on top of everything and very attentive. We were seating within 5 minutes. Unfortunately we had an incident at their sister restaurant Samurai. So we left and decided to come over here instead and I’m very impressed with the staff at Shirasoni. I was accused of having a fake ID at Samurai (I’m currently living out of state so I don’t have a California ID) The waitress forgot to ask for our IDs so the manager ended up coming over. She didn’t even great us, she asked to see our IDs gave them back then proceeded to walk away. She didn’t even tell me that she thought my ID was fake. She had the waitress come back over and tell us. The managers attitude was horrible, I believe her name is Tati. I’m almost 25 years old and have no need to have a fake ID. I didn’t get our waitress name but she seemed very upset about the whole situation. She told me that she’s thought about quitting because of the manager and I was also told that the manager allowed a underage employee to drink at their Christmas party. The poor waitress looked so uncomfortable and anxious. I hope this situation at Samurai is taken very seriously. The manager at Shirasoni is amazing ( I forgot to get here name) but she was very sweet and seem very concerned about what happened. I asked our waitress if I could speak to someone higher up and the manager came over not even five minutes later to talk to me after we were seated. Anastasia looked at my ID, she told me I was fine and that I was able to order a drink. The food was amazing the best hibachi I’ve had in a long time!! I want to thank the staff again for being so kind to us. I’ll definitely be coming back here when I come back home...
Read moreWe went for New Year's and we made a reservation for 7 o'clock. Upon walking up they had a sign up saying that they were not honoring the kids eat free because it was New Year's even know it was a Tuesday. Then we checked in and waited 30 mins. beyond our reservation time. They still did not have a table ready and there were still people waiting ahead of us. We saw a table that was open in the sushi area that had been open since we had gotten there but they kept telling us they were not sure yet if we could sit there. We finally got seated and and looked at the menu and they had made a special menu that included the most expensive items from their original menu and raised the prices up. I was craving my Yakisoba noodle dish and come to find out was not available as an option the waitress told us that whatever is on the menu is what you get they are not doing anything special. We were there with my sister and her boyfriend and when we received our sushi rolls they had put ours and theirs on one big plate not knowing who's was who's. Our waitress did not refill our glasses we had to ask the bus boy whom told a different waiter. We finally got our bill and my sister had a $10 credit on her rewards card and the waitress told us that she could not use it because it was New Year's eve. So she complained to the owner and he told her well you can use it next time, so she told him no because she will not be back again so he said that he would take care of her and he took $20 off of her bill and when she comes in next time he will take care of her. We will most likely not be going back here especially for...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant so many times with my husband and kids, and have had the best experience until tonight which I chose to describe as an isolated incident due to the fact that it was appropriately and professionally handled by the manager Chantelle. Here's what happened: I decided to order by phone for a pickup and got Janet the host on the phone. Note that the website was also down tonight. Janet couldn't hear nor understand me because of the loud background noise and decided to treat me in a horribly rude tone and unprofessional way. She placed me on hold for over 10 minutes then hung up on me twice on separate instances/calls. As I kept calling, she wouldn't pick up the phone. After 5 attempts to call again, I finally got her. At this point, I told her that I was coming in person to the restaurant to talk to a manager. I went to the restaurant and when placing my order ,I spoke to Joel who was very nice by the way and another sweet lady. Little did I know, they reported the incident to Chantelle, the manager while I was waiting in my car for the food ordered. As I went back in to pick up my food, Chantelle nicely acknowledged me and sincerely apologized. She even offered me a gift card for the trouble and tonight's experience. She was going to address it and made it clear. She handled it in such a gracious and professional manner, and by the book. What a great manager. She just saved the restaurant a loyal customer. Beside that incident, the food is always great, the atmosphere wonderful and the staff very friendly. Kudos to Joel, Chantelle and the other sweet lady (didn't...
