My experience at Spinnaker was a little bittersweet. My wife and I came here for a nice dinner because it seemed a little upscale, and it was a white cloth table service. The weird part was all the male waiters were wearing blue ripped jeans while the females wore dresses, and we thought that was a little odd for an upscale restaurant. The food was decent, my wife got a Caesar salad which was drenched in cheese, and the dressing also appeared to have way too much cheese. My meal was excellent and I was very pleased that they offered GF pasta. However, the waiter was not at all knowledgeable about what items contained gluten and what did not, and the menu wasn't very detailed either. So if you require GF, be warned. There were zero desserts that were GF, besides ice cream if I recall. Also, they offered us cookies that they were giving out to 'Father's' for Father's day, which isn't why we were there, but also, the waiter knew I needed to eat GF, and still gave us the cookies anyway. When I asked if they were GF, he wasn't sure and didn't bother trying to find out. Not cool.

Just so so at best. The food was as bare as the walls are. I knew it was going to be rough when they brought us sliced sandwich bread instead of dinner rolls. The presentation was nice but the taste is just not there. Less than a half of a teaspoon of bacon in my $12 salad. The swordfish was slightly over cooked and again just so so, nothing special. Paying the bill on an IPad in a beat up dirty case with square rather than a proper merchant account was somehow not surprising. Granted we have rather sophisticated pallets with all the traveling and foodie experiences, however this was some very expensive mediocrity! For the same money just go to the Brewster Fish house until they get better chefs here.

Spinnaker is an institution with long-time regulars in Brewster. Formerly the Bramble Inn, it was taken over by young and energetic entrepreneurs several years ago, who kept all the good things and made some updates. It serves as both a bed & breakfast and as a dinner spot and is one of the few places in the area that is open year-round. The food is excellent, and the place should be commended for responding quickly to the covid-19 crisis by offering take out and later setting up many outdoor dining areas in its lovely gardens for the summer. It gets busy, so make sure to book in advance.

There are not enough stars in the universe to rate Rob and Andrea! This was our third stay at this amazing oasis. The room we have stayed in was as lovely and inviting as ever. Spotless, bright and fully equipped with a small fridge, espresso maker and the usual bath amenities. Very comfy king bed with extra pillows and blankets at the ready. There is a small porch with a separate entrance off of the the room. It housed a table and 2 chairs and a chaise. It is up a flight of stairs so may not be for one who finds stairs difficult. ||As previously mentioned, this was our third stay and we were welcomed back as if we were family. Rob and Andrea are ABSOLUTELY THE MOST AMAZING HOSTS! ||Due to Covid, dining was al fresco. Andrea asked if we would like to dine on our porch, and insisted on making it a divine experience! we had just come off of planning and executing a backyard wedding with all the trimmings for our daughter, so were in need of time to recoup, refresh and relax. Andrea graciously and with energy that seems to know no bounds made certain we were pampered. We dined each evening on Chef Rob's AMAZING interpretations of Mediterranean cuisine. Every single morsel was a culinary delight and a gift to the palate. As we sipped a cocktail on our porch we could smell the aromas wafting from the kitchen. We tried the farm salad, caprese salad, octopus salad and clam toasts. Every ingredient was fresh and perfectly seasoned and cooked. The presentations were works of art! Our entrees were equally wonderful and delectable. We sampled the swordfish, chicken, Rob's incredible bolongnese, eggplant, lamb and the day boat pasta. I am drooling as I write! The desserts were divine! We sampled a different one each night which we split. All delicious.||Each morning we were treated to an amazing breakfast. Each morning it was something different. For two of our mornings we were the only guests. We thought it would be scaled down. NOPE! It was even more incredible! Perfectly cooked crisp bacon on a light croissant with a perfectly cooked egg, fresh tomato and basil. Are you drooling yet? It was accompanied by Greek yogurt with home made||Sicilian lemon curd, honey and walnuts. Nope, not done yet. A lovely, perfectly ripened platter of fruit followed. This morning we were served a breakfast board...needless to say it was over the top. Burrata and honey, parmesan chunks, hard cooked eggs, salami mini grain bread toasted cheese and the amazing yogurt and fruit...I think Rob thought we were a small country with the amount served! (But then Andrea swooped in and packed up the leftovers so we'd have something to nibble when we arrived home. ||We cannot say enough or thank them enough. It's obvious that they love what they do and wish to ensure that all guests are meant to feel pampered. The staff say how great they are and you could hear dinner guests thanking them by name. Obviously they have repeat guests. Do yourself a favor and become one of those people. You will thank...

We returned to the Spinnaker for a dinner because we had a pleasant experience prior and enjoyed the food. We made a reservation and opted to sit inside although outside was very nicely lit. I am writing this review because of the lack of service and attention to our experience.

My wife and I were extremely disappointed at the lack attention and lead time between courses. We were one of 2 parties in the indoor dining area. It seemed that the waitress was very attentive to the larger party next to us (understandable) but even after that party left, my wife and I waited 20-30 minutes between appetizer, main course and dessert. The most disappointing part was that we were sitting there with empty plates and the waitress walked by us or didn't even check to see how things were and wouldn't clear our plates. The waitstaff even turned off the lights in half the room while we were eating.

Also, there were about 4 staff members including our waitress setting a table in the other room while we sat at a table with clear and empty plates. We would have appreciated someone to clear the plates or even ask us if we wanted more water or another drink. I was shocked that someone could walk by or near us and not care to mention anything or just take the plates.

I have worked in the restaurant industry before and was always told to be attentive to water, clearing plates, check in on guests and this was not the case for this team. For example, I enjoyed the Spinnaker Signature cocktail and probably would have ordered another one but the waitress instead walked by us with empty drinks and didn't offer us any service. This is def not acceptable, especially when you are paying good money for dinner.

None the less, the food was excellent and we love it being so close to our Inn but we were disappointed in the lack of attention to service. When we left, we wanted to talk to the hostess but she was chatting the the same waitress. We did talk to her outside and she was defensive about the situation but I don't think she truly understood how this could have been avoided or fixed. We truly understand that restaurants are understaffed and circumstances but it was clear to both us that the waitstaff had time to attend to guests. We didn't need to be there for over 2 hours and we could have ordered more drinks or even attention that lead-times were longer because of situations. Instead, it seems that the team has a lack of attention to serving guests that should...
