One things for sure, nothing has changed here since my first visit 14yrs ago. It’s still constantly jam packed busy at night during the summer, similar to a can of sardines, but louder, smellier rude sardines.
If you’re lucky enough to get one of the 3 bartenders attention, order double or triple of what you were going to order because it takes FOREVER and a day to get served, and the chances of one of the rude sardines bumping into you (unapologetically of course) is extremely high, potentially hard enough to knock one of your cocktails out of your hand forcing you back in line to try your chances at getting the bartenders attention once again.
The selection of drinks is disappointing, really lacking at including locally crafted hard cider or ginger beer- the option of cider they have tastes like sugar water...could really afford a revamp of what they offer, come-on Woodshed, get with the now & support your local crafters (Farmer Willies Ginger Beer out of Truro would improve my personal experience ten folds at your establishment,) even if you aren’t allowed to enjoy it on the back deck outside in the fresh air - this has always been a pain point. Why can’t you drink on the deck?
The bar could totally use some additional air flow since the deck is only for a plethora of cigarette smoking, inside it’s always hot like a sauna and fairly certain there’s no air conditioning which really emphasizes the stank of BO, bad breath and cheap beer. If you’re a lady, I highly recommend avoiding the restroom at all costs it’s gnarly! Maybe the men’s room is better, but I’d imagine if that were the case you’d see way more girls sneaking in to use it.
Other than that, it’s the best bar in Brewster, mostly because its the only bar in Brewster with ‘nightlife.’ I’d suggest if you go, go when the Slackers are playing, great local band with a good...
Read moreTonight my daughter and two of her friends came to your establishment and it appears something must have been put into their drinks , very scary happenings at the Woodshed!! They were only there for an hour, and each only had two drinks from the bar. They also were handed an open beer by a Budweiser Rep upon entering, and the girls each had sips of that as well. When they arrived home, the Uber driver would not leave our house after dropping them off. All three girls were violently vomiting and falling on the ground for hours. They blacked out and do not remember most of the night. Thankfully they made it home safe. There is no way that from one hour at a bar, with only 2 drinks each, they would’ve been in this condition. We later found out that the Uber driver that brought them home changed the drop off address for the ride, seemingly so he would have no listed connection to our actual address. Thankfully I was home, because who knows what he was planning if my daughter and her friends were alone in the house in that condition. One would think at a local bar, local young women would be safe. Very scary place and absolutely not safe for...
Read moreWhile the atmosphere and live music were a good time, the service at this bar was unacceptable to say the least. While my friends and I are young, we are all college graduates and over 21 and came while on vacation to have fun at a local place. The bartender was nothing but hostile to our group for no reason. First, two of my friends were denied service after presenting IDs because the bartender refused to believe their ids were real. He made them pull up pictures of their diplomas to prove their ids weren’t fake. Then, two of my other friends were yelled at by the same bartender for our group not tipping enough, despite all of our friends tipping 25% every time we ordered. Many of us have worked in the service industry and understand the importance of tipping, however being harassed by the bartender on a false allegation was uncalled for, and decided not to spend our money here altogether. Good vibes but poor...
