If it weren't for the table server, this review would have been a firewall 5 💥! Atmosphere and overall appearance rates a 5. Cleanliness rates a 5. The food (corned beef and cabbage) rates a 10!! When I ordered it I figured it would be the standard boiled corned beef....nope! It was mostly likely boiled at first to cook it but then finished under a broiler maybe? Dunno but it was effing AMAZING! Had just a hint of smokiness to it....and the fried cabbage, to die for. Just didn't get enough cabbage on the plate. Could have used double the amount of cabbage.
So if the ambience was so good and the food being off the chain, why such a low rating? The table server was slow as molasses in Jan. My wife felt like she was intentionally ignoring us at times or just plain forgot. Once we were finished and requested "to-go" containers and the check...it took over 35 mins just to get them. And to top it off....I gave $40 for $28 bill. Then another 10 mins waiting for change. Sort of felt as if server thought I should leave a $12 tip and would get fed up and leave if I waited long enough.....nope, that's not me! I will decide if you deserve a tip and how much I will leave. Then once she decided to return with the change....she failed to include the coin change. Only gave me the paper money. Ok....I guess after I had already placed a 20% tip on the table while waiting for her to return, she can keep the extra $0.78 she failed to return with. Since I was feeling my blood to boil a bit, now it was time to leave otherwise I could have easily made a scene.
Overall, I highly recommend the establishment and the food quality was top notch....the server needs some additional training. Without calling her out by name here, just beware of the gal with a name like...
Read moreUnfortunately with our last visits to this restaurant, we have been disappointed. Either they are understaffed, out of items on their menu, or now skimping on serving size, so the list just seems to be getting longer with a place we used to really enjoy frequenting. Our most recent experience, I brought to the attention of our server that the steak salad, now had very little steak. That is one of my typical go to items; however, recently they keep putting less and less steak on it. If a salad is $14 dollars, you should expect a decent amount of steak, so the fact that it keeps getting worse (which our server said he noticed as well) isn't okay. Normally, I would not be one to complain to a server, but this is the second time this has happened recently. After brining it to the servers attention, nothing was done to try to fix the situation. Bring out more chunks of steak, discount on the bill, something to address the issue I brought up before even eating it, so they could see how little steak was on the salad. I feel that shows a great deal about management if you aren't willing to try to fix a problem. If there is an issue a customer brings to your attention, you don't address it at all? I'm sad that this place just seems to be on a downward spiral. We don't have many Irish pubs in our area, so I hope they...
Read moreGreat beer. Ask for a flight. They don't advertise it but they do have them. The appetizers were amazing. The award winning pepperoni rolls weren't exactly what I pictured based on the name. They looked like donuts but were made with egg roll wrappers and stuffed with ground pepperoni. They were very good once I got over the fact that there was no doughy yeasty goodness. I'm from the south, and pepperoni rolls are usually yeast rolls stuffed with pepperoni and cheese down there so I had some preconceived notions going into it. I'm not much of a salad person but my daughter got the BBQ chicken salad with honey Dijon dressing. I couldn't believe how good it was. If you've ever had a California Dreaming salad, it was very similar. Best dressing I've ever tried. The only thing that didn't impress me was the pork taco. It wasn't a crunchy taco, but soft which I could live with but the pork had no seasoning at all, just big chunks of dry meat, there was only a tiny sprinkle of what looked like bacon bits, and the maple aoili was not impressive. But the service more than made up for the one item that was lacking. I definitely recommend doing a tapas style meal here and sharing several items rather than being...
