Shah's Halal Food - Bridgeport — Restaurant in Bridgeport

Wouldn’t recommend eating here. My mom ended up doing UberEats pick up order. I walked in told the person near the cashier I have a ubereats pick order mind you one lady was sitting down and another lady walking around and a tall guy making the food. The lady that was sitting down pointed at three bags on the counter instead of getting up to help me she wanted me to look through other customers bags. Very unprofessional. As they mentioned they didn’t have my food and told me to check the location I told them the location and told me oh yes that’s right. Again they told me to check my order again if it was the right location. The lady literally clarified and told me it was the right address I had on filled so I didn’t understand the repeat of the question if the location and address is listed correctly. After that the tall guy ignored me and didn’t help at all instead he said just cancel the order through uber eats. So I ended up leaving than receiving any notification that it was ready at the same location that I just left. Went inside than they finally had my order. Makes no sense at all.

I ended up having a big order one of my orders were fried chicken wings horrible wasnt crispy and wasnt done so I had to put my chicken wings in the deep fryer. Do yourself a favor head to Waterbury best food there plus the customer services is way better than the one on main street they don’t know how to communicate at all. Going to Waterbury their food is well done wings are very crispy full of flavor along with they offer you a lot of sauce and make sure you have everything you need compared to the one on Main Street they literally forgot to add any sauces when I mentioned sauce to them two times.

Please don’t go here head to Waterbury for better Hala food you won’t regret it at all. Very professional, friendly staff and welcoming and pays attention to their customers.

Updated: Ordered Shahs last night via doordash. Order was wrong all around and they didn't give us the correct items. No biggie. We like everything there and were cool with just going with it.. BUT..Onion peels were all throughout the food (the kind you can't even chew through thats typically thrown away when you peel an onion, the gnarly dry tough outer layer) and the meat felt super off so I asked my husband if it were raw... he looked and yep..Raw chicken piece was in my bowl. We immediately stopped eating but it was too late. We were both sick after eating. We will never be back after this experience. Which sucks because we ordered often and looked forward to it. Shame whoever worked this evening ruined this restaurant permanently for us.

I have been a regular customer at Shah’s Halal and have visited multiple locations. However, my experience at the Main Street branch has been consistently disappointing due to one particular staff member—a Spanish-speaking young gentleman—whose behavior has been extremely rude on several occasions.

He is often unwilling to accommodate simple requests, such as switching chutneys, and serves noticeably smaller portions compared to other branches. His attitude alone has made me stop going to that location.

Additionally, I’ve noticed a general decline in food quality and portion size, which is quite disappointing for a brand I used to trust. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. For the sake of customer experience, I strongly believe this staff member should be retrained...
