Very first time at this location and I was highly disappointed and felt profiled! I’ve been to the other location in st. Charles and had an excellent experience. Went because I remember the food for being awesome; we were celebrating my sister’s 40th birthday and it was everything but a celebration! We entered and was seated near the back by the bar across from the restroom in the dark were we used our phone light to look at our menus we ordered two appetizers those came out hot and they were delicious while eating the appetizers we ordered our dinner. Finished the appetizers and bread asked for refills on our waters and more bread the waitress took our same basket with our butter trash and put the new bread right on top of it! Then after that we noticed everyone around us received their drinks and salads so we got our waitress attention to let her know that my sister never got her lemon drop she literally told us she forgot and immediately went to make it the drink taste was nasty and tasted like it was made with cheap liquor! waited about 15-20 more minutes and noticed our food still hadn’t come got the attention of another waitress to find out the dinner order was never put in! We had been sitting there for almost an hour and our food was never put in is crazy. Our actual waitress never came and gave no apology, but the the other waitress offered my sister to come back on Thursday to hear Frank Sinatra. Overall we felt like black shadows in the corner! We will never come to this location again! Service was a zero and the atmosphere was tooo dark. I recommend the St. Charles location. And thanks to the African American young lady that removed the dirty dishes from the table we definitely appreciate her attentiveness and hospitality but everyone else walked pass our table like we had the cooties.

I cannot for the life of me understand how/why this restaurant has such high reviews and packed dining rooms. Although the appetizer and dessert we're good, and the wait staff seemed courteous (though harried due to short-staffing perhaps), there were several issues that made this meal disappointing. First, and foremost, the location is so jam-packed with tables that it seems to be a fire hazard. Not to mention the fact that the exit signs we're not lit up, which I'm pretty sure is a fire code violation. Secondly, the lighting in here is so dim that I saw several tables using their cell phone flashlights to actually read the menu. When our food arrived, I resorted to using my cell flashlight under a glass of water so that our table was lit up enough to see to cut our food. Thirdly, as for the food, the ceasar salad had hardly any dressing and what appeared to be the inexpensive, shake-on parmesan cheese and rock-hard generic croutons. My companion's garden salad looked much better, however. The ravioli entree was just okay, but the cannelloni appeared to be topped with provel cheese which ruined an otherwise tasty dish (I did appreciate the server's recommendation to mix the red and white sauces). Because they did seem to be short-staffed, refills were sparse, requests for parmesan cheese to top a dish and for complimentary bread were forgotten twice. However, the food did come out quickly, which was appreciated. Lastly, this location is definitely not handicap friendly.

This place has stolen money from me literally. In addition to the food totally declining from the oler days of Joni and nice service. It's filthy and the salad once fresh is no longer. In an attempt to help out a friend with dinnerwho had no money...I ordered Massas close to my work....arrived 8 minutes late sorry and waited 15 minutes to get checked out by Katherine or Katie. She had issues repeating the same order in the computer which resulted in duplicate charges of approx $40 and tips 4/times. I was not home and until I got back home and tried the terrible fish soaked pasta, old lettuce and stale-stale bread. I checked my bank balnce on line and there were the 4 charges. I waited til...Friday and spoke with Katie directly who promised to talk to the owner and get back to me....NOPE!!!! And not Saturday, today Mike who I assume can make things happen says NOPE!!! We made a mistake and messed up and charged you (me) but you have to wait for the return of your money when we say it's ok. Guess what please don't be fooled by this lying place who at this point has stolen from me and maybe others..Check your bills when leaving or ordering....

So where do I start. Let's just say if I could give no stars then this restaurant would get just that.

Let's start with we called in a reservation for a big group and they stated they could handle it. Well that wasn't the case at all but we will get to that part. Let's also say this restaurant likes to assume alot of things as well. We arrived to the restaurant only to find our tables that we had already had a RESERVATION for had been given away to a group that they ASSUMED was our group. Keep in mind we had RESERVATONS FOR 5:30pm (Yes we were on time). Due to us not having our tables we ended up waiting to be seated for about an hour. Our kids were pushed into a small corner table waiting for another table that should have been ours to open up to give them room at the table. The adults were left with standing for a period of time until another table opened up that also should have been ours.

Once everyone was finally seated in different spots of the restaurant and not seated together as we should have been it got much worse. Now time to order food and it took them another 30mins or so to come and get our orders. They were quick to bring us water and other drinks...well just one glass. Never got any refills. They finally started going around getting everyone's orders from all our different tables. Orders were placed. Out table order some appetizers and once they came out they ASSUMED they went to another table. By this time our kids are hungry after playing a long day of volleyball. After about an hour our food started to come out but again they ASSUMED where food needed to go. All the food did not come out at once and when it did come out not everyone got a side or the correct order. They still have not gotten anyone refills on drinks. It was bad enough that the tables next to us that were not apart of our group even stated this is horrible and don't know how they have a good review. The tables around also had been waiting for a while to eat and they got appetizer before us and we were their before they arrived.

So this is already long and I could go on and on but I think you understand what I am saying. We got our checks and of course they can remember to charge you for what you didn't receive at your table but someone else got your order. We paid our check in full but didn't leave a tip as they did not deserve one.

It was bad that I was still hungry along with other people in our group that we went to Wendy's to get food and they did not disappoint. I had a better experience at Wendy's then I did at this restaurant. Others may think differently but this was our experience at that restaurant and they stated they could take on a group our size. Let's just say they can't and to stick with smaller groups and next time will look at the size of the restaurant and make a decision.

There maybe other restaurant the same size that can do a better job but not going to take that chance. Also it was so bad that the bartender wife was working and she doesn't even work there. We will not be going back and probably not to anymore small restaurant. They are quick to take your money but not quick on anything else and they love to ASSUME .

WAIT.....last thing when you try to get their attention and tell them that is the wrong order or to get a refill they act like they don't hear you and walk away.

I'm done, I hope you have a better experience as we did not get a good one.

Thanks for...

This place did not live up to the hype. I brought my mother here for Mothers Day on Saturday after Applebees turned us away. We just found out she has cancer and it's stage3, so I wanted to take her somewhere she would really like and enjoy. It's in an actual house next to what looks like a section 8 duplex. The entry to the parking lot is just as attractive. If you don't pay attention you will trip coming in over the huge step at the doorway. The place is lit like a dark alley, which could be romantic if the service was good. We were sat at a table then abruptly moved, which my mother didn't understand because she also has dementia. As we ordered the older blonde waitress stopped listening and excused herself to greet and seat people coming in. Another waitress poured my mothers water into her cup from the opposite side and directly over her food and plate. Then as I asked for a glass of wine she ignored me and walked away. Mom got a straw for her soda but not our waters? No lemon in my water like requested. Mom aske for a coke after her sprite and it was over carbonated. They brought me my plate first and I sat and waited to eat for 5 minutes until they brought hers out. She came to refill my water while we were eating but not my mothers glass which was lower than mine. No parmesan was offered, I had to ask. Asked the blonde for my check and 15 minutes passed and she came to the table and asked if we were all ready to go, I told her I already asked for the check and her response was excuse me I've been dealing with the whole restaurant. As if she was alone and there were no other employees. The salad was amazing and so was my Chicken Bianca. My mothers Linguine Tamara left plenty to be desired however. Leaving that place was the best part of the visit in all honesty. I had been wanting to come here for years but wanted it to be a special occasion. After making it home I was terribly gassy from the food and ended up literally pooping my pants and peeing out of my butt for an hour which ruined my plans for the evening. I then proceeded to sleep for 16 hours. I plan to one day visit the other location to see if it's any different. I will definitely wait a few months before I'm brave enough. Did not feel welcome at this place whatsoever. I believe I was sitting next to the owner or a strong regular who witnessed our situation and said nothing. This place was a bad joke to me and I couldn't wait to leave this review. I hope others have better luck here and I hope they begin to train their waitresses properly. I would've went the olive garden over this place any day of the week....
