I attended the June 13 dinner and wine pairing event at the Bridgewater NJ Maggiano’s featuring Belle Glos wines. Through this wonderful dinner experience I was introduced to Belle Glos offerings and reacquainted with Maggiano’s excellent food. I was delighted by how perfectly Executive Chef Ieasha’s food stylings complemented the wines.
The evening began with a charcuterie platter paired with the ‘Oeil de Perdrix’ Rosé, setting an inviting tone for the delicious journey ahead. The second course, Mozzarella alla Caprese paired with the Glasir Holt Vineyard Chardonnay, was fresh and flavorful. The third course was Fettuccini Alfredo with Parmesan Crusted Chicken, which paired beautifully with the Balade Pinot Noir. The final savory course—the Steak and Mushroom Ravioli Duo with asparagus—offerred with the Quilt Cabernet, was a definite highlight for me. To finish, we enjoyed a delightful tiramisu that was the perfect sweet ending.
Throughout the evening, the waitstaff was incredibly attentive, ensuring our glasses were filled and our needs met without any delay. There was no skimping on either food portions or wine — everything was served generously, making for a truly enjoyable experience.
Joe, the knowledgeable representative from Belle Glos, shared fascinating insights about each wine, while Executive Chef Ieasha took time to discuss how each dish was prepared and why it was paired with its specific wine. The relaxed pacing between courses created a perfect setting to savor and learn about the food and wine we were enjoying.
Maggiano’s did an outstanding job hosting this tasting dinner. Belle Glos Rose and Quilt Cabernet are on my wine purchase list now. I do hope that in future events, consideration is given to using proper wine glasses for each type of wine to further elevate the experience.
A special shoutout to Executive Chef Ieasha and Manager Gabby for a wonderful evening — truly well done! This was my first wine pairing dinner at Maggiano’s in Bridgewater, NJ, and I can confidently say it won’t be my...
Read moreWe visited on 7/5/22 with the intent of celebrating my daughter's fourth birthday. I made a reservation for 7 PM on a Tuesday thinking that the whole dinner process for two adults and two kids (4 and 1) could be done in about an hour. I was wrong. We had two waiters and the whole process took two hours. That is my over-arching complaint about our experience that evening. It's hard to pinpoint the exact cause of why it took so long, but I also don't care to. Dinner for four should not take two hours.
Along the way, there were smaller issues that were also irritating:
-Neither waiter asked us what we wanted to drink when we sat down nor when we ordered our food. We ended up forcing our drink orders upon him when he walked by. No big deal, but weird.
-We ordered a sangria before our food arrived and the drink arrived as we were finishing the meal. I'm not sure how much time had elapsed, but we had forgotten that we ordered it and were surprised when it arrived.
-When I made the reservation and when we sat down, we told the waiter that we were celebrating a birthday, but after we were finished with our entrees, we sat for a long time with no sign of the waiter and I had to flag him down and indicate that we were ready for dessert (90 minutes after we sat down).
-The adults at the table were not offered dessert. Again, no big deal and we would have declined, but weird.
-Lastly, when the birthday treat was brought out by both of our waiters, neither of them started singing when they lit the candle. There were a few awkward moments of silence, then I started singing to move the proceedings along. Again, this was very odd to me.
We don't go out to eat very often so maybe I'm off-base with this review, but my family did not enjoy this dinner experience and will not be returning...
Read moreI have been to this location many many times and have always had a great experience. Last night was not one of those cases. It was busy and clearly the restaurant wasn't well prepared to handle it. Food was either prepared haphazardly, overdone, or just didn't taste good. Mozzarella marinara appetizer was so overdone I couldn't cut melted cheese with my fork, it was too hard. I ordered chicken parm w/ fried potatoes and someone thought it was a good idea to pour tomato sauce over half of them. Finally, we were there for my sister's birthday and she ordered the dish that is manicotti w/ chicken and spinach. It was a big plate of what was described as "mush". She couldn't finish it. Couldn't taste the chicken and the cheese filling was dominated by onion flavor. When it came time for the birthday cake, which we brought, our server dumped it on the table with a steak knife for us to cut it. I asked for a larger knife and she said she "wasn't allowed" to bring one out. There are many restaurants who would serve the cake for us, even for a small surcharge which I would have gladly paid, but this wasn't the case. Overall, with the amount of money this restaurant charges, this was not the premium experience we usually get. Our server, Ellie, was either inexperienced or overworked (or both). I always try to give our servers the most understanding but after dumping the cake we brought on the table, she lost my support. It was my idea to finally bring my Italian family to Maggianos in Bridgewater and it was way too much of a disappointment. Given this was a one off situation, and the quality is usually top notch, I will be back, though not on a...
