Just moved to the area and decided to check out this AMC location. For reference, I used to go to AMC Garden State, which was amazing. This was my first time experiencing AMC Dine-In, and to be honest, it’s not for me.
The seating is mostly flat, which takes away from the immersive experience. The screen quality is mediocre—nowhere near Dolby, IMAX, or AMC Laser—and the sound isn’t much better. Since there are lights built into the seats, the theater never truly gets dark, which is distracting during the film.
As for the dine-in aspect, while food is brought to your seat and some servers are great, the overall system feels half-baked. When I asked one server how to get a popcorn refill, he told me I'd have to walk back to concessions and have them place the order. That’s fine, but it defeats the purpose of dine-in. If there’s no way to call a server from your seat, then the whole “convenience” aspect is lacking.
The theater itself feels dated and a bit run-down. The light fixture on my seat was broken, so I had an exposed beam shining directly in my face the entire time, and the seats themselves were also in bad shape. Cleanliness was also an issue—there was popcorn on my seat when I arrived, and the cup holders were dirty.
To top it off, the experience was disrupted by unsupervised kids running around during the movie, kicking seats, talking, and watching videos on their phones with the volume up. I get it—I was a kid once too—but I never acted like this, and the lack of enforcement of basic etiquette made the experience frustrating.
Overall, I really wanted to like this place since it's only 5 minutes from where I live now, but between the outdated setup, subpar experience, and lack of crowd control, it just didn’t live up to expectations.
Will most likely never be back to this location. They should transition some of their rooms to IMAX and Dolby as it would give them more variety, and for the Dine-in rooms, they need to do something almost like a plane or hospital where they have a remote which controls lighting as I would like to have the option to turn my seat lights off, the remote should also have a call bell for a waiter so I can order from my seat, and they need to upgrade the chairs to have different seating positions and that could also be put into a remote. These are just some ideas from me that would make this theater a lot better, but I doubt these changes are...
Read moreWent to the theatre with my husband to see the latest Dr. Strange movie on Friday. We’ve been to this theatre many, many times before, but this was by far the most awful experience. I ordered pretzel bites, at movie theatre prices, and received two honey mustard containers instead of cheese 15 minutes later. I got up and exited the theater to find someone to ask for cheese instead, which you have to do now that the theatre removed the call buttons from the seats. When I was able to flag down someone who worked there, (many were running around unwilling to acknowledge me) I showed them the two containers of honey mustard and asked if they could be replaced with cheese. The gentleman asked what seat I sat in and said he’d have some sent. I patiently waited as one container was delivered to me. When I turned to speak to the delivery person, they ran away. The single container I received had maybe 1 squirt of cheese. This was to replace two completely full containers of honey mustard? At movie theatre prices? Really AMC? I then left my seat for a second time to ask someone for additional cheese, showing them the amount of cheese that was provided. He agreed it was very little and hurried into the kitchen to order more, saying it would arrive at my seat. 10 minutes later, the same guy came saying I had to pay for more cheese if I wanted more. Are you kidding me? If you’re wondering, we arrived very early to the theatre to have entertained this bullish**. So I pay for cheese. Got up from my seat again and paid for the cheese at the front at 8:04pm. 8:24, still no cheese. By this time, I don’t even want the snack. I get up a fourth time to see what the hold up is, to find out it was “just” delivered to my seat.
Additionally, the theatre is extremely run down. It smells dirty, like someone cleaned all the theaters with the same rag and same bucket of bleach. Disgusting. The screen was ripped. The cup holders were all broken around us. If you tried to put your drink in it unknowingly, you could lose it.
This place has really tanked in the last few years. Save your money. Order a...

My boyfriend and I were really looking forward to the experience of the AMC Dine-in and theatre with good service, great food and entertainment. My boyfriend is a DC fanatic and I wanted to treat him to the "Batman vs Superman" movie and the last time I've been to the AMC the food and everything was great. First impression going back for that night was how filthy the theater looked and the employees huddled around at the entrance into the movies. Next, I asked the server for warm water with lemon and a margarita and he brings back ice water (I did not even touch it the whole night). I was confused about the new, tiny menus but I decided to order sushi to start and a BBQ chicken sandwich. The sushi tasted overcooked and not fresh at all that I could not even eat it most of it. So, I was excited for the sandwich in hopes that it is as good as it sounds, no the sandwich was soggy! Nothing was fresh about the lettuce and tomatoes on there. I asked for BBQ and ranch on the side and they brought me too plastic cups with the sauces in it! Let alone I could not even eat the sandwich. I asked the server I did not want it and decided to try the boneless wings, those were gross! Wendy's make better wings than what I had that night! Once again, I had to send my food back and I did not order anything else. But it did not stop there, the movie was in 3-D when it started I turned to my boyfriend and asked "Is it me or is the sound low and my eyes are playing tricks on me?" The 3-D quality was bad, almost blinding to my eyes. I ended up just sleeping though out the movie.
Overall, I spent well $105.00; $35+ tax for the tickets online and $60+ $10 tip for the server who gave us slow service! It was an experience that wasted my time! I never want to go back! I do not know what happened that night but I was so disappointed because I loved everything about the AMC with it's original menu and great quality experience. I hope it...
