Somerset County Library System of New Jersey — Attraction in Bridgewater Township

I recently relocated to Somerset County on March 31st 2023 I visited your library system located in Bound Brook New Jersey in the process of copying documents to be submitted to superior court of New Jersey the copy machine in the main foyer begin to malfunction after the customer informed a library staff member white female with a heavy Eastern European accent was informed by the customer of the malfunction but instead of that employee checking the copy machine status to ascertain the problem made a comment quote what did you do to the machine the customer immediately replied quote I know how to operate a copy machine then at that time the employee became apologetic typical of people who have a difference towards me as a black man and I have experienced it all of my entire life but this should not exist in this environment someone needs to inform that employee to be careful of her comments and biases of other racial groups because it might cause certain legal problems in the future you have...

This is certainly a not bad place if you are simply looking to borrow a book or other item they loan, or perhaps need a quiet space for paperwork or hard copy homework. However, this place is absolutely not a good option for anyone who needs to use a personal computer or needs access to the internet from a personal device. Wall outlets to charge your devices are scarce and often located in the more dimly lit spaces of the library. Any nicer tables which have natural light from windows or more space for comfort do not have this amenity. I’d rather find another library with better planned spaces. In addition, their free WiFi is not even usable. It is too slow and too weak, far more so than any other public library I’ve been at. This is not a wise place to visit if you are an online student or use online material for work and need a quiet space to accomplish things. Loved it except for the lost of the stacks. Too few computers make it almost impossible to get what you want.. books allowed for people to use information without having to wait for a computer or lack of computer skills. And changing to the new system did anyone consider the fact that in the old days you did not need a computer to get the information now without computer skills you are left out. Beyond that little glitch two people are definitely friendly they help you as much as they can be if you have a library. Otherwise it's the library I went to school in did my homework end and actually picked up extra college credits.
