I am not the typical person to place a review, but the managers of this restaurant and future customers need to be made aware. I visited this place with my family for the first time in July 2018. Terrible from start to end. The person that seated us acted like he was put out that he had to talk to people. Activity was average, but the staff had challenges getting to us in a timely manner. No matter. It was a Saturday. My wife and 6 year old were about to go shopping and we were all in a good mood. Waitress was new. No matter. We’ve all been that person. Chuckle through her mistakes. Kids entertained. Then it starts. I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas. Wife, salad and some sandwich. Kiddo gets a cheese pizza. Wife’s salad comes out. I see her face. “I can’t eat this” she says. Given this was half her meal, and she typically is not considered a picky eater, I asked to look at it. Ever leave your greens in the fridge too long? Well they’ll get wilted, soggy, and if it goes really long, brown and almost slime like. Yep, it was that bad. Wifey doesn’t want to make a fuss, but I politely asked our new waitress friend to help us out. Swap out for only non-salad item. Potato soup. Wife had two bites. “Ugh”. Well, I’m what you would call “gravitationally challenged” and I’ll be damned if I leave good food go to waste. Dive in “Ugh.” Terrible. Canned soup is much better. I couldn’t finish Now we’re waiting. Getting hungry. Kid still happy, but now we’re in the uncomfortable stage where no food is coming, no staff will make eye contact, and MY entertainment is swatting at a fly that has taken to hanging out around our area. By the random waving of other patrons, I can see it had friends. Finally SOME of the food arrived. Wife gets her sandwich. It has several items not mentioned on the menu. Probably not a big thing, but some items on it (onions) are things she would not have had had she been made aware they were on it. At this point my brain can’t stop but start making note. Look around. Seems like others are in similar states of frustration. My fajitas? Chicken (not steak) and shrimp. BURNED. Not the slight burned that others may have rejected. I’m talking stuck to the sizzling plate, scrape it off with effort burned. The kiddos pizza? It arrived 15 minutes later. Pepperoni not cheese. He’s 6 so eats a slice anyway. Doesn’t taste good. I’m done. Eat my coal fajitas and leave no tip. Coming from a family that had worked in the service business, I typically put 20%+ even for less than normal service, so no tip should say something. The managers should be ashamed of how this place is run. I will never go back, and will pass this story on to other locals so that they do not endure what is the second worst dining experience I have ever had. Considering the worst was food poisoning 15 years ago.... DO NOT EAT HERE. This is nearly a month later, and I’m still mad at how they ruined our experience and I’M the one who...
Read moreHonest review here but Kristin the waitress is such an amazing server. She is super nice and very attentive. You can absolutely see the experience she has in doing this and I don't even know any of her job history given i don't know her. As far as food i give it a solid 2/10 and here's why. The chicken crispers have 100% changed. At first i got them and they were pretty cold in the middle and super tough to chew. I asked for a new batch thinking these were re fried. Kristin was immediately on it. Came back with a fresh batch and they were most definitely hot but different and still very tough to chew so i couldn't even imagine how many complaints they're getting. Restaurants do this all the time where they save on costs and cut quality. This was 100% the case here I'd say and again i can't be the only one or thousands of people saying this. If they're hard for me to chew i can't even imagine an elderly trying to eat them and I'm a guy who will eat anything. Chicken is not supposed tp be that tough come on chilis this is ridiculous. Just saw an entire group blog for there change in chicken crispers. Now another thing your cooks need to learn how to fry the fried mozzarella. Literally no cheese pull ever! If you can time the fry right and look at when cheese is swelling given the fried mozz a different shape almost it's time to pull it. Pretty ridiculous this has happened the last 3 times I've came. Aside that the old timer was 100% amazing and so was the potato soup. I know the soup is easy considering it likely comes in made and just needs to be heated but the burger was awesome and i know that's gotta be grilled. Above all you can tell that my review is honest here as I'm giving both the good and bad. Unfortunately the bad out weighs givem the food quality is down and that's what i came to Chilis...
Read moreIf you want to order catering here, don't. The manager very obviously lied to me on the phone today. I'll explain below.
I don't usually ever leave negative reviews, however, Chili's definitely warranted one today.
I called the Brighton Chili's yesterday (12/19) to order a big catering order for our office Christmas Party. I talked to someone over the phone (important detail for later) as our order was too big to order online. I told him I needed to pick it up tomorrow (12/20) at 12pm. He said that's fine, I just need to be there at 11:45am to pay before I get the food. I then received texts, after that phone call, at 10:27am confirming that they have my order and that they'd let me know when it was ready.
I showed up to pay and pick up the food around 11:50am today (12/20). There was a sign on the door that chili's is closed due to their water heater being broken. I then simultaneously received a phone call from the manager (odd timing). She stated that my order had JUST come through and that they couldn't prepare it. I told her that I actually spoke to someone on the phone yesterday and received texts saying that my order was placed so that couldn't be. She said well, our water heater is broken so we can't prepare food. I then hung up as there was nothing else to say.
I know things happen when running a business, but feel free to own your mistake. I wouldn't be writing this if the manager hadn't lied to me so obviously. You open at 11am everyday and waited until 11:50am to call me after you asked me to be there at 11:45am. Luckily, Old Chicago came through with 5 pizzas in about 30 minutes. They were delicious as well.
I don't advise anyone to order catering/to go here. Maybe try a different location if you really love Chili's. I certainly won't be ordering anymore catering...
