Contrary to the giant neon sign in their window, definitely NOT the best Chinese food in town. While it's not the worst I've ever eaten, it's just simply not good. My husband & I ordered takeout at around 8pm on a Saturday night. We got the "Dinner for 2", which included Sizzling Rice Soup, 2 egg rolls, white rice, Mongolian Beef and Sweet & Sour Chicken. The soup was by far the best part of the meal; the flavor was actually not terrible. However, things went downhill from there. The shrimp looked mushy, and upon tasting, also tasted mushy and a little fishy. Then I ate a piece of chicken and noticed it looked mushy and tasted weird, as well. Next were the egg rolls. They looked well done on the outside, but after taking a bite, I quickly noticed that they were not fully cooked and were still doughy on the inside. It was at this point that I realized that all the food is frozen and things are only going to go downhill from here. On to the main course. The rice was stale (surprise, surprise), and the Mongolian Beef was simultaneously bland and terrible. It had such a weird taste that after chewing it for a few seconds, I spit it back out. (I looked over at my husband, and he was actually doing the same, and he RARELY spits food out!) We tried the Sweet & Sour Chicken, and it didn't taste as bad as the beef, but it was dry, tasteless and readily apparent that it was - you guessed it - frozen! I might try this place again earlier in the day, maybe for lunch, to see if the food tastes any fresher. But as of right now, the Dragon Express gets a HARD pass from me. It's definitely not...
Read moreI have ordrered from Dragon Express many times (both take out and delivery), and the food is typically really good, however my review today is primarily based on their customer service. Essentially, when I ordered online, the Triple Delicacy is listed as having shrimp, chicken and vegetables. When my order was delivered, I discovered it had beef. I haven't eaten beef in 20 years, so this unfortunately was not going to work for me. I called back to the restaurant and the gentleman advised that Triple Delicacy comes with beef, so I got what I ordered. I advised that the description online did not indicate beef, and I'd like it corrected. I asked if I could have the correct item delivered back to me, and he said "no" because they were busy. I then asked if he could credit my card and he said he'd credit me for another (lesser) item i purchased, and I advised "no", he needed to credit me back the $13.95 for the order that was delivered incorrectly. 5 days later, there was no credit, and when I called back to check on it, I was advised (by the same guy) that they don't offer refunds and that he'd give me "credit" for a future order. I told him that was not our agreement, and he proceeded to yell and get frustrated at me for my asking him to do the right thing and credit my card for their error. He finally said he would do it but with much attitude...it remains to be seen if he really does it. In all, the food is good, but if you run into an error on their part, good luck in trying to get it resolved in a respectful and...
Read moreI have ordered from here several times, with sub-par food at an overpriced rate. But never had I had such distasteful and rude service. I attempted to make a delivery order to a location less than two miles away from the restaurant. The man answering the phone was abruptly rude, being short and cutting me off. When asked how much I was planning to tip, I expressed my wish to tip the driver directly when my food arrived. To this I got a lot of attitude, including a harsh tone explaining that I didn't understand. He told me he was counting down the drawer and the driver would not receive any money I tipped him. I continued to express the wish to either tip in cash or write out the amount once the service was completed, to which he said I could not that I must tell him the exact tip now. Feeling that he was rude and that the demand was unwarranted I told him I wished to cancel the order, and the phone was then abruptly hung up on me. I will not order from them again. But highly recommend Chin Chin, which is also right down the street. I've never had a complaint about Chin Chin's...
