We visited this black owned establishment on Saturday, August 20, 2022. We made a reservation prior to online for 7 PM. Once we arrived, we realized there was no free parking. It was only valet parking, which was $20 to park in the front of the restaurant and $10 to park everywhere else. I did feel this was a bit unrealistic considering this is in Brookhaven, not Downtown or Midtown Atlanta. There’s plenty of parking everywhere and we could’ve easily parked at another establishment nearby. We decided to go ahead and pay the $10 to park. It seems this restaurant is trying to nickel and dime customers however they can to cover their overhead cost. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess who graciously took photos of us at the two photo opportunities right in front of the restaurant. One was of the Atlanta sports teams and the other was a tropical scene. Once we were done taking photos, we were seated at a lovely hightop table right near the bar with a view of the entire restaurant. They do have a stage where they have a live band perform, but they did not do so while we were there. I believe the band begins performing at 9 PM. Once we were seated, we were given paper menus. Our server came over to assist us with our menu selections. There weren’t many people in here at this time, since it was a bit early on Saturday evening and this is also a new restaurant. We ordered the following menu items: Filet mignon, Short rib jerk burger, and Lavender lemon drop. We asked the waitress to make the Filet mignon medium well and the Short rib jerk burger well done. Shortly after we ordered, the Lavender lemon drop was brought to the table. The presentation of this drink was really cute. The Lavender lemon drop was very tasty, sweet, refreshing, and just strong enough. I also enjoyed the sugar rim around the martini glass, which complemented the flavor of the drink quite well. The food came to the table about 20 minutes later. We did notice that my Filet mignon was well done and the Short rib jerk burger was medium well. It was either the waitress or the chef who had gotten the temperature of the meats mixed up with the orders. I still ate the Filet mignon which was tender, seasoned well, and savory. I didn’t have to add any A1 or Heinz sauce to this dish. The mashed potatoes and asparagus was also pretty good. I do feel that these items could’ve been hotter temperature wise however. My boyfriend did eat his burger and said it was tasty. He also enjoyed the truffle fries that were included. We didn’t switch our menu items out since we already had them at the table and they were pretty tasty. I do feel it was a oversight on the restaurant’s part. This is why it is important that waitresses write down what patrons say, and chefs know accurately how to prepare the food. Due to this, I did not order any dessert because I didn’t want the restaurant staff to get our choice wrong again. I do feel this added a bit of a glitch to the evening. I did use the restroom while I was here, which was clean without incident or difficulty. I do feel the aesthetic in this restaurant is simply beautiful. It has a really nice theme with colors of blush, brown, and light pink. I do believe we saw the owner while we were here. He seemed to have a close watch on things going on. This restaurant also has many televisions around where you can watch programs such as sports while you dine. We noticed also that the restaurant does have 100% A health score which is great, especially since they just opened. I don’t feel I’ll be returning to this establishment, because I didn’t like that you have to pay for parking and also how they mixed up our menu item request. I also don’t feel they have an extravagant menu where I would want to try other items. I wouldn’t not recommend this restaurant, but I would definitely say do a read back and verify on the menu items you select. That way you won’t end up with the wrong temperature meat when you receive the food at the table. Especially if the staff thinks they’re proficient enough to not write...
Read moreOk so this place was a mixed bag. Let’s start from the beginning. When you pull up it’s automatically valet not sure why. The restaurant is very easy to find right off Buford near the Pink Pony. It’s also in front of an extended stay which had a lot going on as well so maybe the valet is to make people feel like the parking is more of a safe choice but I did not see security just valet 🤷🏾♀️ not saying they don’t have parking security just did not see them. Of course valet is extra so we chose to park at a near by park and nature trail and walk that a bit then walk to Clutch from there. I would high recommend the trail if you’re on a date and looking for something romantic to do before. When we came in they sat us automatically we were pretty close to the stage which I liked because April and the band were basically the whole experience! APRIL WAS GREAT Y’ALL! The band was a bit loud but I mean it’s a live band in a restaurant so that was expected. She went through a few classic cover songs and talked to the crowd the whole time. Honestly without the band it would have been nearly as enjoyable. Even though we were sat immediately and our server came to introduce herself quickly she left the table and didn’t come back for about 20 mins. When she came back we put in our drink orders. The drinks took about another 20 mins so that’s about 40 minutes y’all just on drinks. The drinks were ok not too strong but not watered down. Server took about another 20 mins to come back for our orders. I got the Salmon slider burgers they were good but the sauce was too sweet for me. Another person in my party got wings and felt the sauce was too sweet on the wings as well. Honestly overall the food and flavor were still good and everything was fresh even though we waited a good full forty mins from ordering til when they actually gave us the food. They did not give us an itemized receipt and I didn’t see if gratuity was already included but from just doing the math myself the bill was definitely higher than it seemed that it should’ve been based off what we ordered. All in all I would go back for the live band experience. I really enjoyed that aspect in combination with the atmosphere, the food was ok a bit overpriced if you ask me but whatever, the band was everything though. That’s the main reason I would suggest going it was a mixed crowd but mostly black people so it was definitely a community affair which I...
Read moreWent to Clutch for the first time today for the R&B bingo hosted by @ThankYouChris2. I’ve been a few places that he hosts but this is the first time I was extremely disappointed at a location. 1st: The restaurant advertises a menu online that does not exist. Their actual menu is missing tons of items that were the only reasons we even drove over. 2nd: The promoted food offer was a $2 taco special, however what was not mentioned was the only tacos that were the beef tacos, that were dry and the tortillas over cooked. My friend had the fish tacos that were on the regular menu and felt like they lacked flavor and weren’t worth the $20 price tag. 3rd: I ordered a sweet tea that was entirely made of ice. Barely had two ounces of tea in the glass. Funny enough you couldn’t drink it because it tasted like over sweetened day old tea. I had to pour it into a separate cup with water(mind you they only serve bottled water; not water by the glass) just to drink it. 4th: NONE of the food was worth the price on the menu. My friends both ordered the lobster mac and cheese and there wasn’t any lobster baked into the mac and cheese. It was just a small portion sprinkled on top. We also ordered the Bourbon Peach Bread Pudding and it was served to us cold. Now mind you we had a mix up with the desert because we thought we ordered a duplicate for the desert. After one of us cancelled what was really the only pudding order, we realized and asked for the order to be put back in. When they brought it to the table it was the same one from 15mins prior that was just sitting on the counter. They didn’t even bother to just reheat it. 5th: We were here on a Tuesday! It was not that busy and we waited forever for anything we ordered! We barely even saw our server(which considering they automatically charged 20% gratuity, she knew she didn’t have to do much). Frequently having to pull another server(shout out to Bri, definitely has the customer service skills to work at a better establishment) to get our drink orders in or checked on. Honestly if it wasn’t for @ThankYouChris2 bingo activity I would have immediately left. Our party equally felt like we will never return to this establishment. I’m surprised this place has lasted two years.
Edit: Found out Bri is the new front of house manager. She came and heard our concerns and tried to make amends for our bad experience. She really was great, but we still probably...
