I would not recommend living at the Pointe at Lenox Park.
TLDR: Bugs, flooding, unresponsive leasing office, there isn't really a security officer, the alarm doesn't work, trash isn't always picked up, tried to get me to sign a lease a smaller unit for the same price, extremely thin walls, don't air condition the gym, dirty apartment etc. 0/10 would live here again.
Prior to moving in my unit was not cleaned. I made an appointment to see my unit the day before moving in to ensure everything was in check. I called and confirmed my appointment. Upon arrival for my appointment they refused to show me my unit because my lease had not begun. They asked that I go head and sign the lease... I didn't sign the lease until I was able to see the unit the next day. The unit was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the model and wasn't close to matching the floor plan I was shown. A queen bed and dresser wouldn't fit in the bedroom of an "800 square foot" apartment.
My unit has roaches, flies, silver fish and spiders constantly. They have pest control that comes, but it has not impacted the volume of pests to any degree.
My unit was flooding through the bathroom. I contacted maintenance and the leasing office. They couldn't find the source of the leak, so they closed the ticket. It took six months and constant maintenance requests from myself and other tenants to have the leak in the building repaired.
They claim to have a security officer and an alarm system. The alarm system can be set and will siren, but is not monitored by an alarm company that will send responders. When you call the security officer it goes to a voicemail that is never addressed.
There is valet trash. At least once a week my trash is not picked up despite being put out during the proper time and day of the week.
Despite the complex being renovated and looking nice, it was built in the 70's. There is no insulation in the walls and ceilings, so I can hear my neighbors conversations, tvs, doors opening/closing, dishwasher, washer and dryer, etc. The windows and sliding doors do not keep out any heat or cold from outside. The side of my room closest to the window is significantly colder than the rest of the apartment. Bugs can also get into the apartment through the windows and doors because they're not tight.
When I email the leasing office I will get a response that will completely ignore my request. If you go into the office and make a request there is no follow up. You have to literally stand there and have them do it while you wait or it will never get done.
There is an onsite gym. The air in the gym is kept at 73 and there are no fans. It gets extremely hot and sweaty.
The one redeeming quality is that John in the leasing...

There are many things to love about this complex, but they were all overshadowed for me when it came to the issues below...
I filed a total of 5 complaints that animals were clawing on my bedroom walls at all hours of the day. I even provided audio files as proof. Each time, I received notification that contractors were called out. I followed-up myself to no avail and the issue continued. If contractors were hired to come out, it ultimately did nothing to resolve the issue and it is an issue with the building exterior that no one wants to address.
After e-mailing the leasing office to inform them that the animal noises were the reason I was moving out and asking if any other documentation was needed, I received no response for over two weeks. So, I dropped off a hard copy in person and requested e-mail confirmation. After hearing no response, I followed up again. Finally, I received a confirmation stating that my e-mail was received, and apartment relocation was offered. After stating I did not want to relocate, rather just confirmation that they were aware I planned to leave is when I was sent a notice to vacate document and asked to complete and return it âasap.â I found it extremely suspicious that it took 3 different tries of carrying out the proper notice to vacate protocol before I was actually sent a notice to vacate document.
Then, during a water outage my bldg. (happened frequently), my apartment was entered without my knowledge or notification by the leasing office mgr. Upon asking why I wasnât notified â she stated it was âone of those days.â
Then, when I went into the office to request the move-in inspection that I never initially received a copy for, a relatively new guy working in the office noticed that it hadn't been signed by a leasing office agent (from when I moved in years' prior) and falsely signed the inspection when he had not been working at this property when I moved in.
As a good tenant who paid on time and didn't cause any trouble, I am disappointed in the customer service or lack thereof I received in the above instances. OH - and I reached out to Rick who oversees this property at a regional level to share my disappointments with him in case management at the property tried to cover up my complaints so the big boss wouldn't find out - and I received no response from him after 2 months - prompting me to leave this review.
Best of luck to those who stay at this property. Hopefully, you don't...
Read moreThis is by far the worst complex I have ever stayed in; there have been nothing but issues since day one, and they lie too much. Before I moved in, I was promised to have my unit inspected, cleaned, and move-in ready, but instead, I had to clean the mildew in the refrigerator and inside my bathroom. The fridge was bad, and maintenance had to come in twice before they could figure out that it needed to be replaced. The units are super old, smell old, and funny for the price they are asking for. The pictures donât match the actual units. And I remember the apartment manager telling me that their units were renovated, which was a lie. water shut off consistently throughout the year with no notice and plumbing issues, which aren't the tenant's issues because whomever the plumber is kept breaking things and causing a lot more issues. I would not recommend anyone living here. The walls are thin, and you can hear people from above and outside as well. Furthermore, dogs bark outside, and at 8â9 am; they are blowing the leaves outside, which causes a lot of noise because the units are old with thin walls. I have been woken up in my sleep several times after working overnight, and I am sure I am not the only person who has suffered these days. As soon as you walk up to the office, you can see in their faces that you are coming in to bother them. no sense of customer service or respect. The property manager over-talks to her tenants and doesn't let you finish your sentence. The only great thing I could say is the location, not the complex or units. Also, the gate setup is very confusing; you must wait for other vehicles to go in first before you can use your key fob to get in. Sometimes you will open the gate with your key fob and random strangers rushing to get in before you, and they do not live there. The neighborhood is sketchy; they stole a neighbor's wheels from their vehicle, even though it is a gated community. The fan in my bathroom hasnât been working since I moved in there; I must turn the AC on for it to defrost the foggy mirror. The toilets and tubs are always stained after 3 days of cleaning up the mildew. Overall, the place is dirty and looks like we live in a forest that we...
