Food: This location offers 20 columns of donuts on display, meaning they usually offer at least 20 different varieties. Some columns are split in half to fit a few more options as if 20 wasn't enough. The Fenway location has even more choices, with space for 24 columns of donuts.

I tried the raspberry jam filled, Belgian dark chocolate, and Boston cream donuts. These are more substantial donuts compared to your typical Dunkin variety.

The raspberry jam didn't satisfy me. The jam itself seemed good but it was all just in a small area near the middle. Over half the donut was plain sugar coated and I didn't expect nor enjoy the plain jamless parts.

The Belgian dark chocolate wasn't for me either. Together with the brioche, it wasn't my taste. Don't expect it to be a sweet or light don't but give it a try if you enjoy dark chocolate and brioche.

The Boston cream is very good; it has the perfect thickness and vanilla sweetness without being too light or overbearingly heavy. Despite not being a fan of the dark chocolate alone like in the Belgian dark chocolate donut, the cream goes really well with the dark chocolate to sweeten it up and also lighten the heaviness of the brioche donut.

Drinks: They also serve a selection of men tea here.

Service: Fast and simple. No issues at all.

Seating: There is a small seating area with a few tables...

Union Square Donuts arrives closer to home! They have a location in Somerville and one in the Boston Public Market and now they're in Brookline (yay!).

Some of the best donuts I've ever had. Always fresh, never greasy/oily, light and fluffy. They have so many flavors, maybe like 10-15 in a day. The hazelnut one is my favorite - you can't go wrong. The Vietnamese coffee donut is tasty too. The bourbon salted caramel donut is so so good, worth getting your hands all sticky! They also make donut holes. Usually there's one flavor per day. The last time around I had the raspberry chocolate donut holes, tart but sweet, a nice balance of flavors. They also have vegan donuts, sometimes even 3 flavors. They serve coffee too but can't talk about it since I've never had any.

Getting there early is always a good bet. There's a chance they may run out. But I've swung by in the hour before they close and they always have at least a few flavors still, and it'll be delicious!

Street parking is available. And in Brookline, generally you can park on the side streets (off of Harvard St) for 2...

I was really impressed with the mix of traditional donuts and inspiration lifted from other forms of patisserie and/or cooking.

The donuts (five for me because today I’m five years sober! and one for my partner) look amazing and I’m going to have the best time getting through them all throughout the day.

I dropped a star for one issue: the donuts were delivered at 9:48am and we weren’t notified by text or call. We got them at 10:10, when I checked the app to see what their status was (delivered). Since checkout said that we’d receive a call when the order arrived, we weren’t paying much attention to the app — and so…cold donuts.

But if there are cold donuts worth eating, these are them!

Also: any tips from Union Square Donuts on how to keep fresh/reheat?

Union Square Donuts = BEST donuts I’ve loved every donut I’ve ever had from this place. Sometimes I daydream about these donuts. I eat these donuts when I’m happy. I eat these donuts when I’m sad. I eat these donuts when I have to sit in a car for a long time because road tripping just isn’t the same without these decadent delights. Coffee is always great too! Staff is very friendly. Ordering online is always easy through their website. If you plan on ordering a large number of donuts, I would definitely aim to order early in the morning. With so many adoring fans waiting to inhale these donuts, the early order gets all the flavors you want.

Shout-out to Union Square Donuts for their quick and easy window pickup! I hadn't been since before the pandemic began, and I was very impressed that they're not allowing customers inside. Today's donuts were big and airy, which was great. I appreciated that they covered the vegan ones with wax paper to prevent cross-contamination with the non-vegan ones. The vegan caramel cappuccino donut (top left) was a bit disappointing when compared to how it looks in pictures; it tasted mostly like a regular glazed. Still good, but not that special.
