The last several times that I went to this location over more than a year, they have refused not to burn the food! Once, after a long discussion, the manager stopped just short of burning the fish, so I did leave with food, but I have left on several other occasions when they insisted that burned food is normal, and I must be the only crank on earth who doesn't love burned fish and chips!!!
I have eaten at LJS quite possibly for 50+ years, so I know what fish and chips should taste like. The manager had the nerve to tell me that local laws require them to burn the food!!! I was a customer here for several years, when things were fine, but the quality has taken a dive. I almost never see customers inside the building anymore, so that implies that other people have stopped coming here, too. Also, the paroled convicts who work here apparently have never eaten the fish, so they have no idea how it should taste, apparently. It seems that they eat only the taco bell food.
I miss being able to come here to get good LJS food, but I'm tired of having to argue with the staff every time that I come here and then leaving angry and without food.
I sure wish they would get their act together, but for now, stay away if you want good LJS food.
I remember years ago when the manager would come into the dining room to ask if everything is OK. Now it seems that there is a different manager every time that I have been there. Half the dining room is usually closed off, due to having no customers, apparently.
I guess I have to drive to LaVale, MD, to get good LJS food. I have never had a single complaint when I go there. I don't know why it's so hard to get decent food here.
I hope that LJS can fix this restaurant, as it is in a fairly convenient location for me. Until...
Read moreAs far as the service is concerned it was great, but the food quality was horrible. I understand that y’all may not be getting the level of business that you once were but to serve me all this old food that seem like it was from about 3 hours ago is unacceptable. I was hesitant to come back for a second time and should have gone with my gut because I definitely will never eat at a Long John silver again. So needless to say my whole dinner is in the trash. If I felt like bringing it back I would have. I suggest y’all cook ppl food to order when it starts to get dark because that’s when you know you will get less customers. I was there about 8:30pm tonight with 2 ppl in drive thru and look through the window everyone was standing around talking so not sure why customers can’t get hot fresh food because I’m sure they will wait to have it hot. Y’all might want to take notes from Chick-fil-A because this was a horrible experience and I will never EVER come back. Only two stars and that was because of the lady at the drive thru was...
Read moreThis Long John's needs some upgrading. They need new equipment for their drive thru people; I was told several times I could not be heard, yet I was speaking at a normal volume. They also didn't plan their food very well for the evening; ordered the 8 piece family pack, ordered corn with it, and was told they only had two pieces of corn (instead of six). No biggy, we just let them make it up with other stuff. However, when I sank my teeth into one of the ears of corn, it tasted like someone could have urinated on it. One bite and I was done with the corn. The only reason I ever stop at LJS anymore is because there are no Captain D's around anywhere, and no one in this country, that I've found, serves authentic English Fish and Chips. I long for the days when H Salt Fish and Chips was new...
