Update: Received a response from the owner as you can see. Made liaison with them as they requested. Got the generic reply saying oh we are so sorry for the experience you received, give us details. Upon giving them the details, was told I'd be contacted within 4 business days.
As of today (1/9/2024), I have heard absolutely nothing back from them. I will definitely never return to this location and recommend others to stay clear. Terrible customer service, and even worse follow-up/promises from their Customer Relations department. Definitely not the owner that responded to my review, if it was they obviously don't care about their business/customer relationship.
Original review: Took my family to this location for lunch today (12/29/23), arrived at 12:05 (not that busy at all). Were seated immediately. Our waitress (Katelyn P) took our order, after about 10 may be 15 minutes she finally brought out our drinks claiming they were cleaning the root beer that's why it took so long. We thought it was legit.
Now at about 12:40 we are starting to wonder where our food was, people around us had already been served. As I was about to get up, she came over and told me they are just pulling our food out. 8 minutes later, as I stand up to go look for her our food starts to come out. Even before she got to the table I immediately told her we have been waiting over 40 minutes and to box it up.
What did she do, start setting the table for people to eat. My wife chimed in and stated box them. She again leaves and brings the smallest of boxes and our bill at 12:56 (I kept my copy of the receipt). Tell me how you take this long to serve people when the restaurant isn't even half way filled. Let alone disappear for over 5 minutes to bring me 5 boxes and a bill.
If you were pissed Katelyn P for not getting a tip, imagine how I felt at waiting for that long. My daughter's steak wasn't even warm, nor was my oldest son's pasta dish. It was almost as if you forgot to submit the entire food order, and then tried covering it up.
Now I frequently go to the location in Ashtabula during lunch, I am in, ordered, served, eaten, laugh, pay my bill and out in about 50 to 55 minutes. And let me tell you, that location on Fridays between 11 and 12 can be packed. Heck, I have frequented plenty of Applebee locations across the United States. This visit by far was the worst I have ever...
Read moreLet me just say I have ate here so many times and it is now just run down and gross. I will likely contact the health department. My family of 6 went there for a late dinner after my daughters graduation. We were told there was a 15 min wait. We actually waited 50 mins; patiently. Once we ordered our food approximately an hour and a half passed before our food was brought out. Once again we waited patiently. When my 2 year old daughters food came out I almost barfed. The chicken tenders were cold, shriveled up, and hard. Her yogurt with strawberries looked like cottage cheese and smelled terrible. The other 5 meals all had cold, stale fries, and two of the chicken sandwiches tasted spoiled when I looked at the chicken off the bun it looked old and green. My husband's steak tasted like rubber. I was never asked if the food was ok. I asked the waitress why the yogurt looked the way it did she got a refund for the kids meal from the manager, when I asked to speak to the manager and asked if my food looked appetizing she rudely interrupted me and made excuses for the looks of the food. I asked how long the fries sit she said 3 to 4 mins which clearly was not the case. I kindly thanked her paid for my check and left. I was not looking for my money back we came to eat a nice meal and spend money, the manager is incompetent and clearly does not care for her customers. I was sick to my stomach all night from the one bite I took. NEVER AGAIN. The right thing would have been to apologize and to make us fresh food. This is so unsanitary and unsafe it's terrifying and I paid over $100 to throw it all away. The waitress was nice and still got a tip. I hope someone investages what is happening there for...
Read moreThe elderly African American woman at the door was incredibly rude and clearly did not want to be there or for any customers to be there either. The young Caucasian lady bartender made up for the lack of a greeting or welcome. She was very warm, helpful, and attentive. We received drinks and appetizers at the bar while we waited for our table. The restaurant was pretty much empty but we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. When our table was ready we received a text to come inside and let them know we were there. I left the bar and went up to the less than friendly woman and let her know I received a text that our table was ready. She didn't even acknowledge my presence and then finally looked sideways at me and said yeah I'll be with you. When the table was actually ready she walked over and motioned to us that was our table and walked away. Didn't help with taking our appetizers or drinks to our table. We waited for 30 minutes before anyone even asked if we were being taken care of! A waitress came over and was going to help us but the woman at the door told her since we started at the bar, the bartender had to help us! The bartender came over, took our food order, got us refills, but became busy at the bar so it took a little bit before she could make it back to see if we needed anything else. She was trying her best and made us feel welcome. We were there, party of 3, for over 2 hours! We were going to ask to speak to a manager but our fear was the woman at the door was the manager. That would not have went well.
Thank you to the bartender for salvaging what started out as a...
