Read moreJust another overpriced coffee shop. I don't understand the Starbucks style coffee shop trend. In a world where a few taps on your phone lets you order your favorite "super rare" coffee online and have it shipped to your door for pennies a cup, these places pop up and charge outrageous amounts for it. Sure someone it making it for you, but if I have to hear another person explain to me how hard being a "barista" is, I'll probably explode. Barista is Italian for "bartender." There's no PhD required, no bar to pass, you pour overpriced coffee for people instead of overpriced liquor. Get over yourself.
Honestly, the coffee is passable. Its not going to change your life. If you like coffee enough to know the good from bad (maybe you have a favorite roast you order online) you'll like it here. If you drink gas station mud, black; you could give this place a pass. I wasn't really blown away by their pastries, they are also passable, but nothing to go on and on about.
The staff are friendly, well mannered and polite. The place is kept clean and is even cozy in it's own way. There's not a whole lot wrong with the business itself, it's just the entire concept is...
Read moreI went here to have a networking meeting with a colleague. Of mine while I was visiting florida and was blown away by the unique stylization and atmosphere of mountaineer coffee. The staff was incredibly insightful and gave us great information about the sauces. And syrups that they make in house and what kind of coffees they make and how those are missed with espresso for people to control both their flavor and caffeine content. The only small critique I have is the awesome breakfast burritos, they gave us. We're pretty spicy and we didn't get a heads up about it. Thankfully, I'm a big spice person. So I was pleasantly surprised, but other people might be less pleasantly surprised. But you can't get over the incredible esthetic. The industrial country atmosphere and the variety of people of all ages and backgrounds who seem to be welcome in this community. I highly recommend this shot for someone who is looking for a place to take their friends, their family. Their colleagues or who just needs a decent laptop day in a place that inspires...
