Very pleasant B&B for a weekend getaway or to celebrate a special occasion. Quaint, charming house and lovely owners who make you feel like part of the family.
The Ederington Suite has a balcony with table and chairs to enjoy a bottle of champagne and the lovely night air. Private bathroom well-appointed with every product you can think of, wonderful shower, fluffy towels, and a comfy padded rug for your tootsies.
The queen bed is very comfortable with fluffy pillows, nice sheets, and a cozy soft microplush blanket as an added touch.
Breakfast the next morning included coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit, vegetable frittata with melted cheese, fried potatoes, and scones. They asked about our specific dietary requests so the veggie frittata was made for the non-meat eater. The meat-eater got 2 sausage links with his. :)
An extremely memorable touch was the guest book in our room. What a joy to read handwritten stories of past guests and their good experiences.
Mike and Tina really know what they're doing as hosts of this wonderful B&B. Enjoyed chatting with them as they cooked our breakfast in their enormous family kitchen. Great source of information as they are very active in local events and a strong part of their community. Would love to stay again if the opportunity...
Read moreAlthough we only spent one short night, my wife and I were thoroughly impressed by the Dolan House! Roger and Debra are kind and comfortable, charmingly engaged at just the level that still allowed us the perfect amount of privacy.
The area and house are both old and the outside is weathered in the way that all old Florida houses are weathered, but DO NOT LET THAT DETER YOU! The floorboards DON'T creak much (a fact about which we chuckled with Roger) and the interior of the house is ship-shape. We were even more spoiled by the bed, which honestly might be more comfortable than ours at home.
Breakfast was perfect. Roger offered us the option to have it early so we could be on our way. We devoured the hearty quiche, crispy bacon, sliced avocado, fruit, and pastries until we'd both eaten much more than we should have and were glad for it.
We will likely return to the Dolan House. Our only hope is that we can spend more time during...
Read moreMy friend and I attended a wedding this past weekend at the Saxon Manor in Brooksville and when searching for a place to stay we noticed that the closest hotel was at least 15-20 minutes away. With some quick googling I discovered the Dolan House was literally a few hundred feet away from the wedding venue. It was perfect! Debra and Roger were excellent hosts! They were friendly and communicative. The home was kept in great condition and the breakfast was fantastic! Pastries, fresh fruit, bacon, quiche, buttered soda bread, coffee, water and juice. It was more than either of us could have asked for/expected. I told the bride where we stayed and she was actually jealous. If you are attending a wedding at Saxon Manor or simply want a quaint getaway from the busier parts of Tampa/Pinellas, you will...
