I've visited very many places in the United States, and this has to be one of the worst.
as a delivery driver, I head to a place to make money. the instructions on my app are very clear: head to the counter and pick up order. The only counter at ojos locos is the bar. As I walk in, security calls me back and asks what I'm doing there... I'm here to pick up an order. "What type of order?" Delivery. "Ooh OK, go up to one of the chicas and tell them you're here for a delivery."
Um, OK, that's what I was going to do anyway🙄 i go up to some girl in a blue jersey and tell her I'm there for an order. She doesn't confirm, just nods her head and goes back to her table. I stand there feeling like I'm not getting anywhere, and I'm waiting. She comes back 3x and never says if they're working on an order, or nothing.
So i decide to go up to another girl who is standing at the head of the bar and ask her about my delivery order. She whistles and calls a police woman over and asks her to check on my order in the kitchen. The police woman asks me what my phone screen says because she can't see. 😒 I tell her, she then tells me to go wait by the front door and she'll check on my order because i technically can't be inside the area where I was at😒
So i go stand by the entrance door and now everyone is watching me like i stole something. It was the most uncomfortable I have ever felt in a restaurant. The woman cop keeps watching me and security guards keep walking in and out of the building. It was extremely awkward, you'd think i just stole something.
Finally the waitress in the blue jersey brings me my order and i am able to deliver. As I'm walking out, one of the security guards is bending over in his car and gets up suspiciously messing with his nose. He grabs a cigarette to look inconspicuous.
I will never accept an order there again after the way i was treated and will be reporting the establishment to delivery apps. If there is a certain process we need to follow, then instructions should be clear from the restaurant to the app. If you would rather delivery drivers wait in the car, then just say that. If my treatment tonight as because I was a woman, then that is grounds for something else. Very...
Read moreAs a visitor to Brownsville, I had a negative experience at the Ojos Locos establishment there. I ordered food and received it late, just 30 minutes prior to closing time. The manager, Elia, approached me and told me I had only two minutes to finish my meal, without any personal acknowledgement. Later, while I was still eating, she returned and asked me to leave, even though I still had food on my plate. I felt uncomfortable with her unprofessional behavior, especially when she stood next to me with security. As a manager, she should have handled the situation with more care and professionalism.
I would recommend that the management team provide Elia with some professional training to improve her customer service skills, as this kind of behavior can harm the reputation of the establishment. I hope that the Ojos Locos management team will take this feedback into account and make necessary improvements to ensure that customers have a positive experience...
Read more#1 the servers were very pleasant. they were also very attentive to their customers. the food was so-so and a bit expensive but i imagine the prices reflected the amount of staff and how they dressed as the main draw to the restaurant. and that's understandable. MY MAIN COMPLAINT AND THE REASON FOR THE 3 STAR IS THE EXESSIVELY LOUD MUSIC!!! i cant talk to the people sitting at the table with me or to the server and i get a head ache. i imagine if the city came and measured the decibel level, it would not surprise me if the venue would be fined. please, please, i am happy to go back, but lower the music to reasonable levels. even the servers complained. i understand if you dont like the loud music, then dont go. however, what about the workers who tolerate the loudness so as to not lose their jobs. the decibel level while i was there i feel would definately cause hearing loss over a...
