I was turned on to this restaurant by my brother who could not stop going on and on about his place.

This restaurant is located in a very unassuming strip mall. The parking is adequate.

As we walked in we were greeted by a very talented keyboardist singing sabor a mi! I thought ok, that’s a good sign!

We were a party of 9 adults. As soon as we were seated they served us salsa with cubes of queso panela and nopalitos sliced in strips. Refried beans with chorizo salsa and chips. We were off to a good start.

We ordered 2 botanas and the tuétano (bone marrow) appetizer with esquites. The tuétanos were amazing and unctuous. The botanas included rib eye, hotel ribs, finger ribs, beef fajita, grilled chicken, sausage, grilled onions, grilled noaplitos, chiles toreados and baked potatoes.

We loved the presentation of the botanas as they were lit on fire and gave the meat an amazing toasty charred flavor. It was an enormous amount of food and it was delectable. The corn tortillas were hand made and amazing.

The only thing was that when the staff brought out all our food, no body was taking the appetizer plates so it was getting a little crowded on the table. We had to ask to have used plates removed. That is not a big deal but a $400 meal should include impeccable service.

The food was great, you will Not be...

UPDATE...I didn't think I would be in Brownsville again! However, I'm here, yet again, for work. I honestly didn't remember the name of the restaurant. DETERMINED to find "the place with good food" I drove around until I found it🙌🏾 This is my SECOND visit and they did NOT disappoint!!! The service😍 and food😋 was AMAZING! THANK YOU for making my 2nd visit just as AMAZING as my 1st❣️ BTW...sé español para meterme en problemas😅🫶🏾

I happened to be in town for work and during my search for restaurants, this little gem popped up! Everyone was nice and inviting; I had the pleasure of having Dania assisted me! Talk about IMPECCABLE service! She was very attentive, answered all of my questions and truly went above and beyond! Her positive attitude and disposition screamed "I LOVE MY JOB and TAKING CARE OF MY CUSTOMERS!" If I'm in the area again, I'll DEFINITELY be back. I had the ribeye with shrimp; the steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Thank you for making it an AWESOME...

The salsa was so good. The service was excellent, the server was so knowledgeable of the menu. Loved the ambiance the music was low enough that you could hold a conversation. I personally don't like loud places. A mariachi band came in briefly, that was loud but they left soon. The food was seasoned to perfection. More about the server, the service was a good balance, she didn't hang out at the table but she didn't make you have to hunt her down. She kept the drinks coming at a perfect pace. The restaurant is also the perfect size it's not too big but not small. So why haven't I heard of this place before? But glad we found it. Definitely our new favorite place. I had the riblets my husband had the chuleton and my daughter and her husband had the grill for two, and everyone loved their food. Portions are the perfect size too. Loved, loved this place....

Nice friendly employees Good food Clean place. We started off with some complimentary Bean soup Bean with beef dip chips and a Molcajete/Mortar bowl full of Cheese strips and home made green salsa it was hot but it was delicious . Then our appetizer was 3 huesos con tetuano/ 3 beef bones cut in half with Marrow Along with corn first time i tasted this it was different but it was good. Then our main meal was a titipuchal plate for two consisted of Mollejas/ beef sweetbread beef fajitas chicken fajitas stuffed jalapeños Queso fundido and guacamole all delicious their corn tortillas seem to have in it mixed cilantro they are good.

I fell in love with this place, the only thing that I can say would make it better is that the location is tiny so feels a bit cramped. The food is to die for as the food is cooked to perfection with right seasonings and its not overcooked for my taste. Their home made salsa is extremely good and not exaggerated spicy with combines well with the food. Perfect for a romantic dinner, catching up with friends, or celebrating a birthday. Recommend greatly for those that are visiting or new in town.
