I had a really bad first experience at La Scala Restaurant Italian Village. I ordered pizzas for my brother's birthday, I placed my order around 1pm or 2 pm to be delivered at 5:45pm...so 6:00pm comes around and no one has delivered so I call La Scala and the girl on the phone tells me "yes , mam your order is ready but we actually don't have a deliverer...well it's the owner that delivers but he left to the store, idk if you wanna wait for him to come back?" The owner had about 4-5 hours to go to the store from the moment I placed my order until time of delivery and yet, he decided to go right before my delivery. I just told the girl to forget it, that I would pick up and to refund the delivery fee and tip that they had already charged me. I rush to get the pizza and the girl just gave me the pizza and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience of THEIR BAD SERVICE!!!...they could at least offer a discount or a free item...or least say sorry but no!!!..nothing...then I get home, open the pizza and looked so bad!!..NOTHING like the pictures shown on their website/FB ...pepperoni pizza had like 5 pepperonis and the Greek pizza looked weird and the toppings burnt. I'm still pending my refund, I don't recommend this place and I would never go back. First and last time at La Scala Restaurant.... also please don't offer services YOU CAN CLEARLY NOT HANDLE PROFESSIONALLY.

We're not in Brownsville anymore! This is how we felt when we visited The Village at La Scala. The experience was different enough to forget that you were in Brownsville for a bit 😅. From the ambient, food, and the service, our experience was just awesome! Our host, Richard, was super friendly and our food came out really hot and well made. I honestly haven't enjoyed pizza like I did when we ate here. It was super cheesy and the tomato didn't overpower the rest of the flavor. Do yourself a favor and try the zombie pizza 🧟‍♂️ 🧟‍♀️ We ordered a regular classic pepperoni, and the zombie with the coliflower crust. The zombie consisted of ranch sauce with pepperoni, spinach, bacon, and tomatoes. As much as we loved the classic, we found our new favorite! I really recommend an afternoon or a night out!

Got delivery. I ordered a Greek and Cesar salad. I got Ranch on both. Called the store and I understood they were closing in 30 minutes so I would not get anything else delivered. I was told by the shift manager "Karen" I could come get the dressings I ordered now. I explained the point of delivery is to not have to go to the location, so if possibly she would keep my information and I could pick up salads with the correct dressings since that's what I ordered. She stated they can't give out free food without the owners approval, and he will be in on Tuesday. I said thank you and to please give the owner my information for when I go on Tuesday. *Called right and10pm to let them know THEIRS NO MEAT IN MY STUFFED SHELL PASTA!!! Of course no answer.*

The server was friendly and very helpful. He gave great suggestions; he knows his menu. The atmosphere is excellent. You are able to talk to those with you.

In our case, food wasn't so good. Well, the bread was salty. The breadsticks and the pizza were too salty. Pasta and other food were excellent. Maybe it was just that day, not saying it usually is salty. I've only gone once, but it is something possible you can go through. I still ate it, so it also wasn't that salty, but I didn't enjoy it.

The only thing that might throw you off is at closing hours. We noticed people that were walking in 15 to 30 min before closing were told they were about to close, and that would be asked to leave. So people walking in just walked out. The server also took some To Go plates without us asking for them. So it felt we were being asked to leave. Maybe he was just a good observer and noticed we were about to be done eating, but with what we noticed, it just felt like we were getting rushed, and we laughed about it. People who showed up to order To Go did stay and were helped with their order. So if you are planning to eat there close to closing hour, have in mind you might experience this. The kitchen closes and so the dining room. Or maybe it was just that day, but it might...

Pittis Pizza has been my boyfriend and I’s go to restaurant for the past four years of our relationship. The food is delicious - I always get a pasta dish and he orders pizza. Everything is seasoned beautifully and the pizza is cooked perfectly! It’s a shame that the food is so good but the service is honestly horrible... we keep going back for the food but the servers are consistently really bad at getting to us in a timely manner and checking up on us. It takes SO long to be served. :( It’s almost gotten to the point that we just expect to be treated poorly and laugh at it. One of our servers did not know what marinara sauce was once... as someone who works in customer service it’s very frustrating when servers don’t educate themselves about the menu or even greet customers nicely and speak up. I feel badly to write this review because the food is such a staple and I think the staff is probably good at heart but the service is just so bad...
