I am not one to complain about restaurants, but today I was extremely disappointed with the Wing Barn location at Boca Chica in Brownsville. I have been a customer of wing barn for years & I’ve never had issues. Today I placed a delivery order through grubhub at 6:45 pm estimated arrival at 7:50 pm & I did not receive it until 8:45 pm. Granted, this was not the driver’s or grubhub’s fault. I communicated with the driver about the order when 15 minutes had passed from the scheduled delivery & the driver informed me that he had been waiting for almost an hour & wing barn had not given him the order. He had already asked 4 times for the order & they said they had forgotten about the ticket because apparently it had been misplaced. I then called the restaurant to ask about the situation & they placed me on hold and hung up on me. Furthermore, I called again, and I spoke to the person who answered & I was told that they had forgotten about the order and were barely going to make it. I mentioned if I could speak to a manager because the driver was waiting for over an hour & it didn’t make sense why it would take so long. The supervisor then said that it was a mistake on their part and the order was going to be out in five minutes. Once I obtained the order, I had more issues. I ordered boneless wings and they gave me regular wings with bones & I had ordered tator tots with cheese and bacon & the tots were cold like if they had just taken them out of the bag & did not cook them. I had never had an issue of this nature with this restaurant & when I called to let me know they said it was their mistake & that’s it. I asked for a refund and they said they couldn’t do it, but I could get vegetables with the order, which I did not obtain. I don’t understand why a restaurant would promote delivery if they obviously do not have the means to do orders correctly. I read other comments & it’s the same issue. I am no longer a customer of wing barn. I will also leave screenshots of what occurred. This was also not grubhub or the driver’s fault, but rather the restaurant...
Read moreAs a boneless/wing lover, I found that WingBarn wings are pretty good in texture, sause is just OK.
First, for boneless, after several minutes in their respective sauce (hot, BBQ or any other), texture was still crunchy, it stood up well enough. At the beginning, texture is different than most of any other boneless, in a good way, like not so hard but not too soft and with a perfect amount of seasoning; you can experience this the most with lemon pepper boneless. While the majority of flavors is good, the most essential one (hot, Buffalo, mild, original, whatever you may call it) lacks that spicy feel, and it's more sweet than other wing places. It's OK, but it could be really better, it's the only thing that really have room for improvement.
Wings are also really good, and are best than boneless, or may be, it's really up to your tastes. The outside is really crunchy too and its flavor is really good, the meat is soft and not even a little bit dry, and even felt that for the hot flavor, they tasted better than the boneless. For the other flavors, the same applies as like boneless.
And lastly, fries. They look more like hand-made fries, and they are decent enough to be the good old side for any wings or boneless. They're salty enough, but of course, you won't find that sweet touch as the other Wing place...
Read more10/18/19. I called wing barn on boca chica en the girl that answered the phone pit me on hold for more than 5 minutes, i hunged up and called again, and the same thing happened. Actually every time I call to place an order is the same thing with the phone. I got there with my phone on and the phone call on hold and speaker phone, and when I walked in there were two ladies, just talking, no clients in the counter; and the place wasn’t even busy. When I walked in one of the lady was about to answer the phone and I told her that it was me holding on that line, and the two ladies started laughing and taunting with each Other. That was SO disrespectful, unprofessional, and childish. A client should not be treated that way when they are complaining about something they think is not right. And if they have a business phone, they need to answer it and manage the phone calls as important because there is a client on the other side of the line trying to BUY and make the business grow; business is not only the clients that eat in there, business is also the people who buy ti go food and order on the phone. I am very disappointed. We love their food, but the service is very poor. I usually eat from there about twice a week, and always the same issue. My purchase date was on...
