La Espiga Dorada Bakery — Restaurant in Bryan

Okay, so I've been going to this little Mexican bakery since I was a child. Don't get me wrong, all the pastries that they make are absolutely amazing. Go to this bakery for that, like seriously. Oh my God, but do not eat the food there.. 🤮 I don't know what the difference is between making pastries and making tacos other than the oven and stove. You would think since their pastries are so freaking good like absolutely to die for, you'd think that their food would be good too but nope. It's like they put all their effort into the pastries then when they looked at the food they were like, "I don't want to mess with it". This is the ONLY decent Mexican bakery in Bryan. They make the bread daily and I have never received any stale pieces since I found this place 10+ years ago. They also serve meals and have tried them but i recommend you eat them in the morning or for lunch. Past those times they are over heated and dry. For those of you who need instructions, you walk in, go toward the right and wait your turn. When it's your turn one of the ladies there will ask you what you would like. You pick what you want from the glass counter. I got there around 5 pm, and they still had a big selection available such as cakes and sweet breads. Their bread is very soft and not too sweet. I got 5 breads. All sized bigger than my hand for $6.50. It's my first time going to a mexican bakery so I didn't know what to get, but I'm willing to try...
