El Sol De Mexico — Restaurant in Bryan

Taqueria El Sol De Mexico provides authentic Mexican food at a decent affordable price. After living in College station for 4 years, this place was always my go-to restaurant for Mexican food in the Bryan/College Station area.

Food: Plenty of Tex-Mex combo plates on the menu to choose from featuring the usual fajitas, enchiladas, parrilladas, tostadas, gorditas, tortas, etc. I usually tend to order tacos and burritos separately so I am able to choose the ones I prefer. The Carne Asada, Al Pastor, and Bistek tacos are my top three contenders complete with onions and cilantro. Complimentary chips and salsa (two kinds: warm and cold salsa) is usually provided with your meal on a normal basis. The cold salsa is a little bit spicier than the warm salsa, but I prefer the warm salsa better. I believe there's free queso on Mondays - Fridays from 11AM - 2PM as well.

Other: Beer and horchatas are sold here along with various Mexican candy/treats

What to know: There is an extra $0.50 charge if you pay with a credit card for any transaction under $5.00. The small parking lot out front is limited, so during busy hours you may have to park across the street at the gas station...

I’ve been visiting this location for years I love they breakfast and salsa. I visited today and was highly disappointed with the service. I ordered two different orders because I was getting someone else food now it only comes with one barely filled cup of salsa and a bag of chips to share if two people is making a order why must we share salsa and chips we aren’t sharing money nor food so shouldn't we get what we paid for unless we pay extra for another bag of chips and salsa although We just spent money on 2 different transactions that’s so disappointing how money is becoming the root of all evil.. I don’t like spending my money at locations that act like this will be looking for another location to purchase from whom appreciate...

I had heard about how good the food is. But I didn't receive great or even good service experience was not one I wish to receive at all, then the person who took my order did not treat me with the same respect that she had gave to another person before me. It was some of a difference between her costumer plus she charged me at a different price for the same meal as the person before me. I don't wish to go there ever again the food lacked in "my opinion "because of the service. I wish it had been a good experience because I had been waiting to have a chance to go I am deeply disappointed.
