The shop is super cute. I'll start out with the positive. Plenty of delicious fresh baked goods and desserts as well as a large selection of coffee. My issue was the girl behind the counter. I ordered a small coffee in my mug, and before I could specify medium roast, she had already poured dark. Then I ordered the spinach and Swiss quiche and she could only day, "anything else?" Never said thank you or even looked up to acknowledge me. She acted like ordering from her bothered her. When my quiche came up, I asked for "here" as I hate waste and it came in a to-go container. Bottom line, shop was good, food was decent, but the server needs a lesson in niceness, patience and customer service. Made me feel unwanted and uncomfortable being in there. UPDATE: I changed my review to a 4 after the owner replied to my email actually caring about my experience! That is such a breath of fresh air in today's service industry! Thank you, Jen for taking the time to write back! 2 friends of mine actually own Brown Dog Pizza here in Telluride and I was excited to share there was another "Brown Dog" in Colorado! I plan on stopping back there soon and plan on changing this to a 5! I really did LOVE ❤️ your adorable coffee shop and the baked goods looked amazing. You are very kind and thank you for...
Read moreDon't stop here!!!! Unfriendly Cashier, this coffee shop not worth of 1 star, First I ordered the dark roast with soy milk and cappuccino, I told her there is coffee left in the mug she poured with angry gesture and irritated attitude and hand me the soy milk, she supposed to do her job not me, so I really wanted to finish my order so I decided not to get my coffee and paid it, but then they don't accept card if the coffee below $5 so I requested or oder again for another coffees not so bitter because I am use to buy in Starbucks some caramel macchiato, My husband hand them 5$ because he heard that they don't accept $5 below, I assume my husband paid $10, when I was in receiving area the woman next to me received her coffee and I ask the girl where is my order, she said " Im making it" so of course I think there is no problem at all, before ordering I really wanted to use the comfort room so my focus was really to use the restroom not thinking my husband just paid $5, And then I waited so long and the girl in the receiver told me that my husband just paid the other drink, I need to come back in a long line and order again, so I feel so embarrassed in the 4th of July feeling so bad and crying in the car, because those ladies treat me like an idiot . They do...
Read more500 stars. Seriously. It isn't hard to be good when the times are easy, but when the times are tough, that is when the great ones truly shine. Brown Dog is one of those great ones. It is said, pressure shatters glass. It is also said, pressure makes diamonds. Brown Dog is a diamond. I've been bagging peaks for the last two decades and one of my rituals is to roll into Brown Dog for a bag of beans and a cup of coffee. I've had coffee from many fine local shops across the country, but Brown Dog is the best. I don't know if it is the magic in the beans, the air, the altitude or just the cool logo. Today was a moment of mini-panic. I'm down to my last two bags of beans. So I did what any coffee addict would do, I placed an order on-line. I got a sweet note from Jennifer (also, give her the biggest raise/bonus/box of pastries possible) about my order. I thanked her, then she sent me a picture of my package and her driving it to the post office. Who does that?!? Well obviously Brown Dog does. So as you imagine, they have turned a fan into a raving ambassador. Anyway, Brown Dog, I have your back. I owe...
