Worst experience ever. It was my first time and I was really excited to try the food and beers. Sat down at the bar and "Little Red" the bartender was ok. Ordered beers, he was pretty attentive. However the night quickly changed. The bar became busy and Little Red had a hard time keeping up. My boyfriend asked for ranch dressing for his salad, after waiting for 40 minutes, he gave up and ate it with the vinegar dressing. Ok not terrible, but our food came and my well done burger was medium rare and I ordered it medium well. My boyfriend asked for vinegar for his fish fry. He asked Little Red and Little Red grabbed the vinegar but, he put down and forgot about it because he was making drinks for the "regulars". Apparently, if you are a regular you are royalty in this place. After waiting for 5 minutes, I got up and confronted him and asked him for the vinegar we ordered 5 minutes prior. Little Red didn't like that and grabbed the vinegar and slammed it down in front of me. I flipped out. I from NJ and that is grounds for an ass beating. "Flannels" the manager, was a little a better but dismissed my comments about how Little Red isn't cut out for this line work. You see, I audit documents and I analyze people and things on a daily basis and it was easy to see that Little Red isn't cut out for bar. We got comped 2 beers and that was it. End of story. Bottom line, terrible food and terrible service. If you want good food and good service go else where. As for Little Red, he better hope he doesn't run into me on...
Read moreRead the reviews and decided to go to Coles Oct. 27th while visiting Buffalo from Toronto. They have a huge selection of beers! The waitress was friendly, service was good. My husband ordered a caesar salad to start and I ordered the buffalo shrimp (these were good). The caesar, was served in a very deep bowl with romaine cut in large pieces (these should be bite size) and not enough dressing. Need to go back and redo this one! We both ordered hamburgers and the waitress asked us; how do you want yours done??? This is a first for a hamburger, have they heard about E. coli?? My burger came fairly rare and my husband's came even more rare, bordering on raw! We should have sent it back but were hungry so didn't. We both ordered our hamburgers with cheese on it. They brought it with lettuce and tomato, but no condiments?? Maybe ordering a hamburger in Toronto is different? We always get condiments. We did ask the waitress and she brought mustard and relish. This hamburger was a wad of meat, very rare and the bun was not your typical bun for a hamburger, should be a soft bun, this was not. Coles may be an institution in Buffalo but I won't be back. It is very dark in the restaurant as well, I always wonder what...
Read moreWent here for lunch with my friend of a decade and a half, she does not eat meat or beyond beef patties. We ordered an appetizer, I ordered a beer. On the second round of ordering, my friend ordered one of the signature burgers with the black bean patty instead of a meat patty. A short time later our food comes out, and the the burger is either meat or a beyond meat patty. We asked our server and she assured us that since it was an (undisclosed previously ) upcharge that it was not a meat patty, it definitely wasn't meat. We advised that it certainly didn't look like a black bean burger. The manager came over and told us the kitchen said it wasn't a meat patty, again we advised it did not look like a black bean patty, we said we'd like to pay whatever they thought was fair for what we had ordered/consumed and leave, as the manager didn't even look at the patty. A few minutes later the owner comes out and slams a box of beyond beef patties on our table, and says he's offended we think it's meat. We tell him we weren't sure if it was meat, but it didn't look like a black bean burger. He told us to get the F out.
Don't go here if you're picky about your meat replacements, or want...
