I used to love this location. The food's great and the employees were friendly; however, the last few times I went, I placed my order with an employee named Chris (spiky faux-hawk hair, tattoos), and I've never had somebody be so rude to me in my entire life FOR NO REASON-- I literally simply ordered my food, didn't ask annoying questions or say anything rude myself (I never would, I consider myself to be a nice, polite person). However, he rolled his eyes at me the entire time, wouldn't make eye contact, acted angry that I didn't tip him (why in the world would I tip somebody with no manners whatsoever?). Nothing too bad but certainly not the most pleasant, comfortable experience.
But the last time I went in with a couple friends, I had an unbelievably terrible experience. My friend ordered first and as she walked away, she told him to "have a nice day", which he responded by death glaring her the entire time she walked away, then rolled his eyes, said "whatever" in a nasty tone, then proceeded to glare at me, hostile and angry. In disbelief, I said, "What did you say?" and he then told ME that I needed to "calm down" and that he will say whatever he wants.
Shocked, I went straight to the counter and asked to speak to the manager. The shift manager asked me what was wrong and I explained to her that the cashier had been so incredibly rude to me and my friends. She apologized and tried to tell me that he was having a "bad day", which I told her I understood but unfortunately it was not the first time he's been rude to me. She told me to come back in the morning to speak to the manager.
I really do understand if somebody is having a bad day; however, that is no excuse whatsoever to speak to a customer the way he did. I work in customer service and if I EVER spoke to somebody the way he did, I would be...
Read moreIf it were possible to give a half star, I would've. To anyone who is a person of color, you might wanna watch out for this place. I haven't felt so uncomfortable at a restaurant in a long time, and this was first time trying out something new. Never doing this again. I ordered a California vegetable omelette with a hot chocolate. When I went to pick up my order, I noticed I didn't receive any silverware or utensils. I would've picked one up, but given our current circumstances with the Covid-19 pandemic, I had to go back up to the front counter to ask for one. There was no one at the counter at the time, so I asked the gentleman who was fixing drinks for one. He was super rude and his tone was very aggressive. To think something so simple and so innocent in nature could be reciprocated with so much rudeness. In addition to this, the customers and rest of the employees kept staring and glaring at me for the entire duration of my time there, like I didn't belong. I am an Afro-Native/Caribbean woman, with a medium-deep complexion and curly hair. Apparently I didn't fit their particular customer image as others glared and made me feel highly uncomfortable. The part Breakfast Wrapthat made me leave was a man who came to the area where my friend and I were speaking. He stood in front of us glaring for a solid 15-20 minutes. This prompted me and my friend to leave, as we both decided this was not a welcoming environment. I've had better service at a McDonalds drive-thru window than here. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Again to anyone who is a person of color who is thinking of trying this Cafe, think again. Thank you...
Read moreI am from UB Math department and working in symplectic topology and Gauge theory with my advisor Car-Got Take. Once upon a time I saw one of our faculty: Adam Sikora sitting at this “spot” using his Apple MacBook browsing Facebook when the social media is booming with Russia’s invasion and the exodus of Ukrainian into Adam’s home country: Poland!
Good to know that Adam also lives near downtown Buffalo and I think this is probably the reason that he is often late for his class. I personally do not take any of his course but I just heard such legend from the kids.
This is a good incentive, in my opinion, for the Buffalo City government and probably also the NYS to wake up and invest infrastructure in our Buffalo society especially in the public transportation so that we Buffalonian can enjoy a reliable, precise and on time public transportation service. This will greatly improves job employment and boosts the local economy and all in all most importantly — for Adam and I to have a safe, reliable and convenient way to UB North!
Wish our NFTA extension project goes all the way smooth without any hindrance! May God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit bless this...
