I ate here with my wife and five kids. When we recurved the check, I was surprised to see that they automatically added an 18% tip. I have never had a tip added by any restaurant for a party that only contained me, my wife, and my kids. I assumed that I had just missed the notice of an added tip on the menu, and the $10 tip was what I would have left regardless, so I paid the bill without questioning it.
I tip and I generally tip well, But I was a little flustered about not being given notice about the tip being added. Had I not been paying attention, I probably would have double tipped. I checked the menu on the way out, and it said that a 15% would be added to parties with 5 adults or more. I asked the gentleman at the the front and he said that the policy changed due to the coronavirus. It was no longer 5 adults - we were charged the auto tip because we had a large family. It was also no longer 15% - it had gone up to 18%. I said that they couldn’t give one policy and one amount on the menu and change it once the check came out. He thanked me for reminding him to change the menu and again blamed the virus.
It is absurd that they felt justified in charging us more than the menu price and changing the menu policy without notice. I would have left a good tip, but to force me to leave that tip through fraudulent activity is unethical. When confronted, the man should have offered to refund the difference between 15 and 18%. I wouldn’t have taken it, but he should have offered instead of suggesting that he had the right to charge us more than the price that was...
Read moreI had high hopes for this restaurant, but it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Upon arrival, the greeting and initial welcome were good, which gave me a false sense of hope. However, everything went downhill from there.
The service was absolutely atrocious. Our server had zero class or finesse in handling our table. It felt rushed, unprofessional, and just plain rude. By the end of the meal, things took a turn for the worse when the server demanded at least a 20% tip. When I didn’t comply, he had the audacity to ask me to my face, “Why no good service? No 20% tip?” Excuse me?! Tipping is optional and is based on the service provided—which in this case was abysmal. Despite that, I still left a 10% tip because, at the end of the day, people still need to make a living.
I immediately took the issue up with the manager, I believe his name was Been, and his response? He didn’t give a rat’s ass. No apology, no concern, nothing. Just pure indifference, as if this kind of terrible service is the standard here.
On top of that, the food is ridiculously overpriced and not even worth it. As an Asian person myself, I can confidently say there are far better Chinese restaurants that don’t try to rip you off while serving you with absolute disregard.
Save yourself the frustration, time, and money. If you’re looking for a good Chinese restaurant, look elsewhere. We are in Gwinnett people, plenty of other Chinese...
Read moreWish I could give no stars. My family and I have eaten here many times and nothing has ever been wrong until last night. Our order came right on time and it was perfectly made after eating the food my two sisters, mother, and myself all got sick carrying over into today. When I called the store to ask for a refund I was told to contact Menufy. I did as I was told and the guy I spoke with was very nice and got back to me right away, when I received my call back from him he was sadly informing me that I would not be getting my money back. I asked him why and he told me that Lee's Golden Buddah denied him the permission to refund me the money for my order. I'm obviously confused so I call the restaurant back and I'm told I wouldn't be getting a refund that my family and I needed to go to the hospital and prove that it's was their food that made us sick. Which fine whatever but the simple fact that we eat here regularly, always tip generously and we are known for it and we've never had any problems before I am very angry and in awe at the way the situation was handled. So from now on I will not be eating here and I hope my twenty four dollars plus tip help the business...
