I was so happy to discover there is a Colombian spot in the Buford area, since moving here, we weren’t able to find anything close and we kept traveling to Doraville whenever we craved it. As much as I wanted to love this place, we left very disappointed.
First, this is a small restaurant, so it can get very crowded. There were only two servers, which with everything going on is understandable, but plan accordingly and don’t come here if you’re on a rush. You’ll end up being late like I was.
Main reason why my family and I go to Colombian restaurants is for Bandeja Paisas. This is a traditional dish of Colombia served with grilled steak, rice, beans, pork rinds, sausage, egg, plantains, arepa and avocado.
Pimentón did not disappoint in that aspect. Their Bandeja Paisa had all the ingredients we love and expect the dish to have. But the main issue was the inconsistency. I’ll explain…
My party of 5 ordered 5 bandeja paisas. You’ll expect all 5 dishes to come out the same way… right? Well that wasn’t the case.
Some plates were missing plantains, some others were missing the arepas, some others got everything, but then some ingredients were not cooked properly. My dad’s plate even got sent back because it has a bug in it. A BUG.
In my opinion, the food was good but not worth all the inconveniences nor the price. Forgot to mention their prices are pretty steep compared to other Colombian establishments, which I wouldn’t have minded if the service/food was better.
In conclusion, my family and I won’t be returning. Even though it is closer from home, we’d rather drive for some food Colombian food.

Me explico…
Read morePretty good food and service. I’ve been coming for 4 years with my Colombian S.O. and kids. It’s much easier to navigate if you speak Spanish. To “Shelby Swatek” who left a one star review, it’s ‘Colombia’, not ‘Columbia’. There’s a Colombian flag 🇨🇴 on the sign on the front of the building and the front of the menu, that would be a pretty good indicator that it’s not a Mexican restaurant. Just because you see Spanish writing on a restaurant doesn’t automatically mean it’s Mexican. Also, chips and salsa is primarily in Mexico. The “watery salsa” you got is called “ají”, it’s for empanadas and is supposed to be like that. Mexican beer is everywhere, they even serve it in Colombia. As far as the music goes, I’m sure you wouldn’t even know the difference between Colombian and Mexican music, considering you can’t even spell the country’s name correctly. We’re lucky here to be able to experience other cultures. Learn a little bit more about them before...
