If you’re looking for Mexican food in Buford, Georgia in Sugar Hill you got to try Viva Mexico it’s pretty good! After my third trip in two months I decided they’re worth a review.
Highlights and lowlights:
🤙
Tacos de Pescado. In Spanish, that means”Get the fish tacos!, Damnit”You’ll be glad you did. Blackened Tilapia on corn tortillas with pico de gallo you can’t beat it.
Combinación Numero Cinco: Being a meat lover but I don’t always want a burger, I pick combination Number Five. In Spanglish, That’s dos enchiladas con arroz Y frijoles.

I had take points off for their chips and again for the applesalsa. The chips are too hard and the sauces too blah.
I like chips that are almost like a pastry crust. Fatty, flaky. El Molcajete in Suwanee has the best chips, but that’s another review.
The second important impression is the salsa. Chips, I can do without. Salsa, however, rules. I put it on everything. Yet Viva could do much better.
I’ve learned in my years not to fill up on empty appetizers. And these chips and salsa are just not that great. In my opinion. Oh my justification why? It has to do with the consistency of the sauce. It’s like applesauce. and it’s not hot and it’s probably too sweet.
flavorful and has the consistency of applesauce so I’m not a big chips and salsa guy so I would take it out of the equation...
Read moreI went to this restaurant this evening with my family. Everything was fine until at the end of our meal our waitress dumped a drink on me (by accident). She said sorry gave me a hand full of napkins and she disappeared. Other employees laughed and giggled. Noone offered to help clean up the mess, my clothes were soaked and noone offered a towel to dry them. The manager walked right by our table and said nothing. Noone came not even to give me the check. After some time waiting I had my family leave the restuarant and go to the car and then a woman finally came with my bill. I asked for the owners name and she said Jose. I guess Jose doesn't have a last name. I went to pay my bill and tried to verify the owners name and the man that was waiting on me was very rude and said that he knew what happened to me and that it was an accident and that "do I not know what an accident is?" He gave me a free lunch or dinner card and I told him that I lived over an hour away and that would do me no good. I asked for a discount instead and he said he didn't want to give me one for too much so he would give me a 25% discount. So I drove home wet and cold. When I got home it was only 20%. He lied. please keep in mind other rude things were said I just can't list everything. So...
Read moreViva Mexico is in the same shopping center as Lowe's, right across from the walmart parking lot. I've been coming here for years now and I have always enjoyed their food. The drinks at the bar are also really good, my favorite is the long island iced tea and margaritas. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great with fun decorations and colorful painted walls. The service has always been great for me, I haven't had one problem with that at all. Now the food, up until now it has been amazing everytime I come.
I went there last week and had the Steak Ranchero, my fiance had the Burrito Grande and we ordered queso for our chips. The chips were different, darker and oily looking. The queso and burrito were great and thoroughly enjoyed. My steak was seriously lacking. I ordered it medium rare and it was well well done, as in overly done. It was dry and super thin. The Ranchero sauce was basically tomato paste slathered on top and covered in onions. The beans were so so and the rice had little to no flavor. I was disappointed but everything else I've had there in the past has been great. I will definitely still come back and I recommend this as a place to try if you're craving Mexican food and find yourself...
