I know this is long, but every word said is worth it for Critical Roll.

Whether you finish league, place in a tournament, or end an extremely long adventure, everyone, at the end, goes to a place we call home. That's what Critical Roll has been for me in my adventure in the bowling world.

Of course, before coming here, I have been to other "guilds" and I never really felt my presence being welcomed there. Maybe because I was a new player and not high in experience as the other players, the DMs of other pro shops would look down on me and railroad a lot of the things I wanted to see and do. I was lost, questioning whether the bowling world was something for me. I started bowling without much thought and did so like an NPC. No gain in experience and no increase in my stats. That is until I visited Critical Roll when they first opened up.

Everyone wants the newest thing and for me I wanted to see what all the hype was for this place and when I walked in when they first opened up, I fell in love. All the latest and greatest gears and equipment right in front of my eyes. Of course, that was all great but with where I was at, I did not see a point in getting anything with my stats. Just another pro shops but with a newer look and nothing for a beginner like me.

HOWEVER, Sam and Josh, the Dungeon Masters of this place, came up to me and welcomed me in. They stood next to me and asked me about my story in the bowling world and where I am at skill wise. Hesitantly, I show them, making it obvious to them that I am new. But that didn't make them look down on me or try to make me do things that I was not capable of. Instead, they pushed me in a way that allowed me to improve MY skills and gain experience points only I can gain. Everyone bowls in their own way, they just helped me in a way I can do MY style effectively and without getting hurt. That's when I realized that this place saw me as a fellow bowler rather than a newbie to take money from.

Since then, I always came with a grinning face, getting A LOT of bowling balls from them, asking for advice, hearing about their bowling life. I gained a lot of experience, developed new skills, joined many parties, and increased my average a lot more than I had imagined. They took care of my pain whenever I had problems with how things felt while bowling, whether it was my wrist, my fingers swelling, or even my posture. They always welcomed me in. It was my guild after long adventures. A place where I can come in without any judgement and overall have a great experience. Hopefully, for the new people who have no idea where to go or even start, this place is the place to be to begin. Here, you're not just a somebody, you are your own bowler who is taken care of by these great people. They have the knowledge and stats to help every bowler from any range. Whenever someone new asks me what they should do, I always tell them to go to here because they will figure out what is best for you. Amazing customer service - Sam and Josh are some of the best in the business! They respond to messages promptly, they are knowledgeable on ball drilling and the latest equipment, all of my bowling balls are drilled in a quick and timely manner, and you can tell they truly care about the customer’s bowling game. Their goal is to make you a better bowler. Sam specifically has spent countless hours listening to my bowling needs, studying my game, and adjusting my layout and drilling to combat any previous pain or issues. I appreciate how professional they are and how important they make me feel when I enter their shop.

No more pain – I have been bowling for 30+ years, and I throw A LOT of games. As I have gotten older, I have struggled with wrist pain and thumb swelling (especially during tournaments with many games). Critical Roll has worked with me to adjust the layout of my ball to help combat these issues. After remeasuring my hand, adjusting my pitch, and suggesting a personalized wrist support, my wrist pain has been a thing of the past. What most impressed me was their ability to minimize my thumb swelling. Critical Roll has drilled so many bowling balls for me, and I can confidently say that they are identical in feeling. Sam especially is the best at mirroring layouts. Every bowling ball feels consistent. Regaining my confidence – Critical Roll has given me more confidence in my equipment, which in turn has given me more confidence in my bowling game. Last year I was in a bit of a slump, but changing to Critical Roll has boosted my average and given me the confidence to enter more tournaments. Bowling takes skill, but you need the confidence to back it up. Critical Roll provides me with a product that I am confident can strike. They have helped me to achieve honors scores, score higher in those “tricky” houses, and even win a few tournaments!

GREAT PRO SHOP, TEAM, AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE GAME AND EQUIPMENT. I had been with the same driller for quite some time, but no matter what ball I drilled, I felt that my game would not get any better and always ended up sore and in pain after 3 games. One day after a small conversation with Sam and Josh, they asked me if I was willing to try something a little different that they felt would help. Josh and Sam analyzed my throw and started a game plan to change my span and all of my pitches. They drilled a ball they had at the shop for me to try the new span and pitches. Low and behold I rolled 4 games back to back and no pain or discomfort at all. Once I told them the fact of not having pains or discomfort, they said, trust us and let’s get this span and pitches on all your balls. I trusted them and I went along with their plan. As of today they have plugged and re-drilled 6 of my favorite balls and drilled 3 new ones. My average in less than 2 months of making the change has increased to 205 average from 193 that I was stagnate at for the last year. Every week I get more and more comfortable with throwing these ball with my new span and all of the pitch changes. In February of this year, I made it to the final three in my division at the TAT (True Amateur Tournament) after never qualifying in the 3 years prior. Who would have thought by making the changes they suggested I ended in third place out of 1600 in my division.
