I visited the Buford location on Monday with my brother and son. We were sat fairly quickly and the good basically ends there.
After being seated and ordering our server DID NOT come to check on us. Our order was missing several items and I had to flag her down MULTIPLE times and remind her that they hadn't come out yet. For one item I reminded her twice. At which point it was brought out but we were more than half-way done with our meal. Even then- she set the plate down without a second glance walked away. Didn't ask if we needed anything else etc.
Now, I understand this can be the kitchen's doing however, our server never once asked if we needed any refills or checked up on us. Meanwhile she had two other tables that were so close to us if I leaned over I could touch one of them. She had no issue checking on them multiple times throughout their meal. So this was not a case of the server having a bad day. It was evident she was avoiding our table specifically. I couldn't help but think that it was due to our age (we look fairly young (we get confused for teens) but are nearly in our 30s).
My 3 year-old son had no utensils and was forced to eat his food with his hands as I couldn't get our server to help or even acknowledge us. They only gave us two sets of cutlery. When she checked on those other tables she would turn on her heel and completely ignore us completely- not even eye contact, nothing.
Our food wasn't made properly either. Our eggs were overcooked (we asked over medium and the whole egg was fried through) and our meal was incomplete (I took a few bites of the missing items that were brought late but to be honest- we were over the whole thing by this point). At the end of our meal we waited almost 20 minutes for our check (we timed it). We still tipped well and it was then when she saw the tip that the server gave us a smile. This was the FIRST time she smiled and tried to be nice.
I love to give positive reviews but the food was just meh at best and terrible service overshadowed everything that day. We have not had such a bad experience in a long time. Years. We will not return and do not...
Read moreI love this breakfast place!
This particular location is in Buford very close to the Mall of Georgia right next to Atlanta Toyota. The staff is super friendly and you get seated pretty fast.
First Watch only serves Breakfast, Brunch, and lunch food, and everything is always so fresh! Definitely a healthier option for breakfast.
Things we’ve ordered:
MORNING MEDITATION JUICE ($3.99): Orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet.
Million Dollar Bacon ($4.99): hardwood smoked bacon baked with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle.
THE TRADITIONAL ($10.79): Two eggs, bacon (or smoked ham, chicken sausage patties, turkey or pork sausage links), whole grain toast, preserves and seasoned potatoes.
BLTE ($9.89): The classic BLT with two eggs, Jack cheese and mayo on artisan whole grain.
TRI-ATHLETE ($10.39): Egg white omelet with roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and green chillies. Served with pico de gallo, whole grain artisan toast, preserves and fresh fruit. Also asked for a side of avocado.
The morning meditation juice was kinda weird, but got used to the taste later. The breakfast portions are very generous and fairly priced, and the million dollar bacon is definitely a must!

Read moreRedemption!!! I have been at different locations but this location about 4 times, and this is the location (Buford) I dislike the most. My first 2 visits, I had to wait an average of 30 minutes, which is not a problem when you have a good product and experience. My third visit was horrible. About 3 weeks ago, we came here. My wife checked in online, and we arrived and checked in. We had been waiting about an hour and someone from the kitchen comes and tells the hostess to slow down because they are slammed in the kitchen. Waited another 15 minutes and I asked the hostess how long our wait was going to be, because we were told 45 minutes when we arrived, and she said 30 more minutes. After waiting over an hour, already…even though they had tables empty, we decided to leave. The reason they were slammed is because they have this big table at the front, where you come in and sit with other people. If you sit there, you get served as soon as you sit down (based on what the server of the table told us, but you’re sharing a table with strangers. We didn’t know that, but hopefully they will change this setup because, it seems to be poorly managed. I don’t mind waiting if it is busy, but I do mind waiting when you have incompetent staff in the kitchen.
I wanted to leave a review then, but as a business owner myself, I didn’t want to punish the owner for the bad management/employees. I had more than enough, but my wife likes this place, so we came back today. No wait and were served by an amazing person, Amanda. I had the strawberry tres leches French toast, and it was delicious. Amanda did “fall asleep” (slack off) a little before we left, :) (not checking on us) but her positive attitude and response...
