This is a great little old school food stand in Old Burbank. They serve hot dogs, hamburgers, sandwiches, and breakfast sandwiches including breakfast burritos. They have a cool little seating area outside. This was my first time here so I had a few questions before I ordered. I asked the kid working at the front counter what comes on the egg and bacon sandwich. He replied very rudely "bread". I asked him anything else besides bread? Any lettuce, tomato, anything? He said oh yeah, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. The kid was not very friendly whatsoever and kind of killed the excitement of being a first-time customer. However I wasn't going to let this kid ruin my day. So I ordered the bacon and egg sandwich with bread lol. I also ordered the Chicago dog. I waited for about 25/30 minutes until my food came out, much longer than I expected to wait. The food was really good and I have no complaints about the food whatsoever. I would definitely come back here for the food. I sat down and started eating and could see a lot of people started showing up. It looks like this place gets pretty busy with a loyal customer base. I would have given this place a five-star review if it wasn't for the rude kid that works the front counter.
I came back 4/29/23 The woman working the front counter had the personality of a styrofoam cup. Not very friendly at all. This place could be so much better if they hired some upbeat people with good personalities to deal with the customers. It seems whoever they hire are not very friendly. If you can get past the interaction with the employees then this place is fine.
There's a very small parking lot right behind the food stand with about 4 to 5 spots. If you can't find parking there you would have to find parking...
Read moreFirst, you will wait a long time here. Especially at peak hours. But it's worth it. All the staples of their menu are top tier. I'd stay away from the onion rings, but that's not what you're here for. The titular chili dog is probably the best in LA. The burger (don't forget the chili) is also strong. Perhaps the best item on their menu is the breakfast burrito. Perfect ratios inside of potato to meat to egg. However, I will say it's not enormous. It is bigger than Corner Cottage, so you will leave with a full stomach if you order a breakfast burrito, but it's not as big as Pablito's or Lucky Boy. It smashes Pablito's quality, but I still give the nod to Lucky Boy because their bacon and sauce are both better than Larry's, not to mention that I can get two meals out of one for the same price. Nevertheless, Larry's is the best in the area. Lucky Boy will set you back almost an hour in the round trip to pick it up, so Larry's is a perfect local substitute for the Glendale and Burbank folks. Let me specifically recommend the chili cheese tater tots. Those wonderful little crispy morsels dripping in chili and melted cheese are one of the best things you can crush an appetite with in all of Glendale, Burbank,...
Read moreGot the chance to try Larry’s yesterday for lunch for my first time, and I already am eager to go back. Easily one of the better chilies that I have had in Los Angeles, which is a town that really loves their chili. It’s a really small takeout only type of place, and the only downside I saw was that it closes early at 3PM because I saw multiple people walk up after closing and then had to do the slow, sad walk back to the car without their food.
They have all the diner classics on the menu, but are most known for their chili dogs. We were able to find a parking spot a few feet away and decided that we had to try the chili cheese dogs and also the patty melt. Both were absolutely fantastic. The chili is very mild, but extremely flavorful, and the patty melt was perfectly crispy, and the addition of avocado really made it.
The food came out extremely fast and the portion sizes and prices are very agreeable. I definitely would recommend and definitely will be back in the...
