Decided to try Pablito's after a long day of work that left me craving something savory. I entered the restaurant and there was a group ordering in front of me. Once they were finished two girls tried to cut me by entering the line from the wrong side but the nice girl at the cashier was quick to inform them that I had been in line first. I ordered the fried noodle dish with steak and got myself a glass bottle of coke for takeout. The cashier asked if I would like an egg on top of my dish for an additional $2 and I said that sounds great and she replied about how that's the Peruvian way. I paid cash and left a good tip for ensuring I was not cut in line and friendly service in general. I went and sat down at a nearby table to wait for my order. Not much long after I was approached and asked by the cashier who had a chicken dish on a plate for eat in asked if that was my order. I informed the cashier that it was not my order and she went and gave it to some other table. Not much long after she called me over to give me my takeout order and I thanked her before I took off to my home.
Once I sat down in my nice cool room and made room for the meal I was craving the entire way home I opened the styrofoam container to find not only was there no egg on the dish despite paying the $2 for it but there was also not a noodle to be seen. In place of the noodles I had ordered was a tiny portion of sauce soaked soggy fries. Along with the half dozen soggy french fries was a fair portion of onions and steak and cup of rice. I was also given two of their sauces that they have in bottles at the restaurant but both sauce containers had only enough sauce in them to barely cover the bottom making them not last very long. I was truly disappointed to find out that my order was missing two major components i had spent my hard earned cash on.
The last paragraph was why I am giving Pablito's Kitchen 2 stars. The food that I did receive was seasoned well and I enjoyed what little of the sauce I was given. I may give this place another try in the future but after a such a huge mess up especially after being given a tip it's not going to be...
Read moreThe reviews of this restaurant don’t lie! Pablito’s has been featured on so many articles locally and nationally that it’s outrageous. My friend’s Courtney and Ashleigh suggested this spot for a review because it was easily one of their personal favorites that they order from regularly, and I couldn’t believe how amazing the food was!
I can’t say that I have eaten many Peruvian inspired meals, but I would go back to Pablito's any day of the week! Unfortunately, I was only in town long enough to go once, so I went for their most popular dish “Steak “Lomo” Saltado”. This is a popular Peruvian dish that is similar to steak stir-fry served over french fries with a side of rice. The flavors from the steak, onions, and tomatoes were mouth watering, but in my opinion the best part is how all the brilliant flavors drip down onto the fries! Everything about it was cooked perfectly and blended together as a perfected dish. We also shared garlic parmesan wings, fried plantains, and the dulce de leche churro, all of which were incredible and I would easily order again!
I could not believe they had stuffed churros, but I guess arriving earlier in the day is better because they ran out of the strawberry by the time we were ordering at 4PM and I bought the last dulce churro. Luckily for me though, dulce de leche is one of my favorite desserts! I would go back just for the churros, but I would definitely try more of their entrees because they all look so good! The hardest part would be not going with the saltado again! My friends have tried a few of the entrees but they always go back now for the Surf and Turf burrito as their favorite.
I highly recommend Pablito’s as a place you have to try, especially if you're only in town for a short time! And if my review here was the encouragement you needed to try it, please tell them that The Nomadic Guide recommended you stop by! I would greatly...
Read moreSo, picture this: a sunny day in Burbank, and I’m heading over to Pablito’s Tacos. This place has got that authentic vibe – small joint, big flavors. We’re going all in with the fish tacos, asada burrito, and asada quesadilla. Let’s see what these guys are cooking up.
First up, the fish tacos. You get a bite of this and it’s like a flavor explosion in your mouth. The fish is crispy, fresh, and there’s this tangy slaw that just ties it all together. They’ve got this sauce on it, probably a secret recipe, and it’s got just the right amount of kick. You take a bite and it’s like the ocean and a spice market had a delicious baby.
Next, we’ve got the asada burrito. This thing is a beast. It’s packed tight, like a meaty, savory football. You bite into it and you get hit with this wave of flavors – the asada is perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy. They’ve got all the fixings in there too, extra rice, guac, the works. It’s like a whole meal wrapped up in a tortilla blanket, ready to tuck you into flavor town.
And now, the asada quesadilla. This is where things get interesting. It’s cheesy, it’s beefy, and it’s got that perfect golden-brown crisp on the outside. You bite into it and the cheese just pulls apart, stretching out like it’s auditioning for a cheese commercial. The asada is the same high-quality stuff as in the burrito, and the combo is just perfection.
So, let’s sum it up. Pablito’s Tacos in Burbank – they’re not messing around. Fish tacos are a must-try, the asada burrito is a monster in the best way, and the asada quesadilla is cheesy heaven. If you’re in Burbank and you miss this place, you’re doing it wrong. That’s my take, and you can take that to the...
