Staples — Local services in Burbank

I am a retiree, recently moved from Connecticut to Northern California and now finally landed in Southern California in 3.5 years. Staples Burbank, is way friendlier and easier to deal with than in Staples Concord. I only printed at tax time once a year. In Northern California, it was practically impossible to enjoy any rewards from recycling my ink cartridges - Staples Concord insisted I would have needed to purchase ink cartridges in the prior 3 months before my now empty cartridges can be recycled. Staples Burbank is nothing but a breathe of fresh air. I can actually get my cartridges recycled whenever I get around to planning an efficient route to do a bunch of errands, or after months of unpacking at my own pace. The fairer interpretation and the welcome I get to even just pick-up a 50-envelope pack of Hot Chocolate mostly paid with recycling rewards, and 90 cents out of pocket, I am actually printing more and buying more paper, ordered online at Staples in my PJs late at night, for my sewing hobby on downloaded digital patterns. I don't have to run out to Staples on a whim, only to be disappointed that ink cartridges or a single ream of paper is not in stock. Way to go...

I have been to this location before and experienced great customer service from the staff. As of today, that changed drastically. I went to get some tax documents scanned and the scanners were not working. I asked for assistance and the woman from the UPS station came over to assist me with the scanner. It was her response to me that I found completely unprofessional. As I was standing near the printer instead of her saying "excuse me please so I can have access to the printer" in a professional manner she instead makes a comment to me stating the following : "Um a little personal space please". They price match!!! I come in thinking I'm paying a premium compared to competitors like Walmart & Target. In fact I thought of walking down to those stores to get the office products I needed. But with mobile apps I was able to check the price and when I was at checkout they matched the price that was on my Walmart app! Saved me time! I have to do my part to support Staples because there's a retail apocalypse going on right now and I want to see this business survive. I'll try to shop here often knowing that they'll match prices.

Other notes: place is clean and organized. They have restrooms which is a huge bonus. And there's little to no wait to checkout. Another bonus. Why am I not giving this...
