Outstanding Courtyard by Marriott with an unbelievable location for doing everything LA has to offer. During my late October stay I was able to dine in Hollywood, hike at Griffith Observatory and Runyon Canyon, explore Old Town Pasadena, and visit friends in Diamond Bar. Also, our friend convinced us to go to Smorgasburg near Downtown LA and it was a huge hit. There was a live DJ and an endless amount of food and drink vendors at Smorgasburg. Before our trip to LA I didn't even know it existed. The Burbank Airport allows loading and unloading passengers from the planes at both the front and back so it takes half the time to board. Amazing! Just watch out for the long walk from the terminal to the car rentals. Everything at the Courtyard was amazing. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the pool and the water pressure was fantastic. The hot tub and pool scene were great. Despite being in a huge shopping complex near the I-5, the ambiance at the pool felt secluded and private. The Empire Center adjacent to the hotel has tons of stores so if I ever visited LA again and stayed at the Courtyard, packing would be less stressful since it's so easy to buy something small that I might forget. Target, REI, Marshalls, Homegoods, and tons more places. Not much can go wrong staying at the Courtyard in Burbank.
JUNE 2023 UPDATE:
I recently had an outstanding experience at the Courtyard Los Angeles Burbank Airport. The hotel's recent renovation truly impressed me. The expanded fitness center with dumbbells up to 50lbs allowed me to maintain my workout routine, and the chilled scented towels were a refreshing touch.
The addition of a new bar created a vibrant atmosphere where I could unwind and enjoy a wide selection of beverages. Happy hour is from 5PM to 7PM.
The hotel's proximity to Burbank Hollywood Airport was incredibly convenient. Just after 10PM on a Wednesday I easily reached the hotel in 3 to 5 minutes using the 165 bus, which cost only $1.75.
Throughout my stay, the hotel staff demonstrated exceptional hospitality and professionalism.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Courtyard Los Angeles Burbank Airport. The newly renovated facilities, expanded fitness center with chilled scented towels, and the addition of a new bar contribute to an exceptional stay. Its proximity to the airport and all the shops at Empire Center...
Read moreI traveled to Burbank on business and saw a bed bug on my pillow. I took pictures of the bed bug and reported it to the front desk. The manager, Manny, looked at the pictures and instead of apologizing profusely and accommodating me as an elite Marriott guest member, he had the audacity to become combative with me saying “oh this doesn’t look like one of our pillows”. Remind you, it’s 2024 and iPhone pictures are time stamped with the date and location of where the picture was taken. I went on to explain to him how he had just offended me, he then says “no I didn’t offend you”. So I had to explain that offense is a feeling and that you cannot tell me that I do not feel offended by you basically telling me I’m lying.
The general manager Colleen was nicer about the situation. But neither of them offered anything for such a disgusting inconvenience. I had to leave my room 4 hours before my flight left because I was so uncomfortable. I didn’t ask for any compensation which should tell you how serious I am about the matter and wanting to advise the hotel so that it could be rectified for the safety and sanity of future guests.
He went to my room and looked around, came back to the front and told me that he didn’t see anything. So I told him that I can show him where I saw it. As soon as we get to my room, housekeeping is already attempting to clean the room, at 8am when I technically haven't checked out yet. So now the pillows are thrown on the floor and the bug can not be found. Suspicious right?!
This is a pet friendly newly renovated hotel. I am now curious as to why they renovated in the first place.
I advised my corporation with photos and we will be taking our business away from this hotel. Now you will lose thousands of dollars per stay in revenue simply because you have horrible customer service, offended a guest, called her a liar, and have bed bugs. I’m almost certain that this is not the first bed bug incident. Manny should not be a manager. Now I’m wondering if he didn’t believe me because I’m African American and he’s of Asian decent. I’m disgusted, flabbergasted and appalled at the way that I was treated during my stay. I would give negative...
Read moreTypical Marriott Courtyard amenities are found here, and the access to the Hollywood Airport is great--probably less than a five-minute drive away. We were not bothered by flight noise while we slept, but were aware of nearby planes and trains during the day. There was a pool and hot tub, which were easily accessed and clean. (The sign at the pool about those with "diarrhea" was a disturbing first, though--does there really need to be a sign?). Only two real complaints about our experience: the elevator seemed to be on its last leg. Every time we accessed it, it groaned as if it was in pain and always emitted the odor of burning metal. Burbank, it might be time for an inspection. After a few trips, we opted for the stairs most of the time. Our most important night of our three-night stay and the reason for our trip to Burbank was the night before we attended an early funeral. For some reason, that was the only time we experienced A/C trouble. We got hot during the night and didn't sleep. We had to wake up very early to get ready for the day's events, and were sweating as we got ready. I called the front desk for service, and someone named "Miracle" said it was simply too warm because it was the City of Burbank overriding the temperature controls. While that sounded in keeping with California's over-regulating tendencies, it did not justify the "F0" error code displaying on the wall unit. Miracle ignored that and told me to give it five minutes. When I called back ten minutes later, no one answered the front desk phone. Meanwhile, we continue to perspire as we donned our funeral clothes. I tried calling again, and two technicians and 30 minutes later the unit had been fixed just as we were ready to leave for the mass and long drive to the burial. The initial response to my request was very unsatisfying and atypical for Marriott service, in my experience. I felt as though the bill should have been adjusted to accommodate the one night of lost sleep due to the temperature, but no such effort was made during this bereavement trip. Be aware: there is also a $10 nightly fee for parking a car. I didn't notice that when I made my online...
