I honestly wasn’t put off by the place due to the price, but my dear friend who started working here not too long ago offered to pay for me and my Boyfriend. (Thank you Lawrence!!!) The food was FANTASTIC! I got the Tokyo yakisoba, and not a single ingredient disappointed me. The carrots were still firm and had a lot of flavor, same with the broccoli, the beef was wonderfully tender and not fatty at all! Good, quality meat. Their white rice also blew me away, as it was the first time I had gotten white rice in a restaurant that actually had flavor. We also got Veggie Spring Rolls, which were served with this delicious sweet and tangy sauce, and they were wonderfully crisp. My boyfriend got the Crab & Chicken fried rice, which was also brimming with flavor, and was a MASSIVE serving. Not to mention our server, Kathryn, was the sweetest! So on top of everything, and it was her first solo shift!!! Big big shout out to her and Lawrence for really making our experience that much better.

I am not the kind of person that would go to a restaurant that offers food from three different countries. Normally in my experience that would indicate a lack of quality or focus. Not true with Asian 1. From the moment we walked in we were overwhelmed with how clean and warm everything felt. The restaurant smelt incredible and everyone who was working were super friendly and had a smile on their face while they were working very hard. The bar service was great and they have super clean beer lines and really fun inexpensive cocktails. The food is where it's at though. We left this meal giggling with how delicious everything was. I cannot believe the quality of the food and the whole experience what's truly delightful. We will be back over and over again

Everything was great! The staff was very nice and courteous, they were always on time and didn't take too long. I was going to take a picture of my food but I was too hungry and it was too good that I totally scarfed it down. The food was really good, very nice for splitting because you get big portions. I split my dish with a friend and both of us were very full afterwards, it was enough for both of us. Anyway just a good place to go and hangout with friends if you're feeling some Thai food. The atmosphere is great too, one thing though, it's always a bit cold inside so have a scarf handy or a sweater because I'm always freezing when I come out from there, but it's not a big deal just a little heads up for you.

The server was rude and aggressive, posturing like he wanted to fight… 2 of the cooks were continuously glaring, staring, (mad dogging) from the kitchen… somehow my order from online was entered incorrectly. All I received from the host that answered the phone and the server that eventually answered the phone was hostility, condescending lecturing, challenging, dismissive, arguing, belittling aggression. Not one ounce of customer service, 0 politeness, and not a care in the world to deal with my problem… I order the exact same order once a week most weeks dine in and take out, I placed the order myself, I know what it said before I hit the “pay” button, the girl on the phone read the receipt back to me 2 or 3 times on the phone while I stood in my kitchen watching my family eat dinner, then put me on hold, after 5 minutes on hold I started driving back to the restaurant, when I was pulling in the fake manager answers the phone, just saying hello this is Asian 1 in Burlington, I told him I was just waiting on hold for the manager, he repeated himself, I told him ago I was just on hold, not a new call coming in, he said “yea I know, that’s me” long pause…. He asked what he can do for me like the other employee didn’t already tell him.. so I began to explain the situation, and he cut me off to tell me no, I didn’t order what I ordered I actually ordered _ and proceeded to read off the receipt again, he repeated that it’s not his fault I ordered wrong, after this 2 times repeated I said “are you being serious right now” and told him the same customer rhetoric of how long I’ve been coming there even since I lived in Bellingham and how often I come and asked him is he telling me I’m just stuck with this order, he said no I just needed to admit it was my fault and not his, he told me I can come to the store and we can handle this in person, at that point I got out of the truck and went in, he was hiding in the back and started marching to meet me at the door, chest puffed out, angry look on his face, aggressively starting into my eyes like he was going to scare me or something… dude… we’re talking about a wrong order? My mind is BLOWN! This was WILD. I’ve known George for 15 years and he’s the nicest man I’ve ever met in my life! I know he hasn’t been the owner for a really long time but oh my god! What has happened to you guys!? What’s happened to good business!? What’s happened to customer service!? This is the adult world…. If I wanted to fight with someone over a bowl of food I’d go to prison…. This was completely insane! Your wannabe manager should go be a bouncer at a club, he’s not even qualified for a job at McDonald’s or Walmart… not even level 1 customer service, if the guy had any skill at all he could have apologized that I didn’t get the food I wanted and he wishes he could just give me a free replacement but unfortunately a place can’t stay in business if they just go and make every unhappy customer happy… I wouldn’t have liked it. I would have ate the other dish I got instead, but I would have been back and moved on instead of being a Karen here writing this review. Fire that guy, seriously. This isn’t the first time he’s done this and it won’t...

I came here with a friend on 12/20. Got Mongolian beef, was offered rice, I got a huge plate of beef, so much I had to take home. Our server was a woman and she was nice. I loved my experience so much I went back again on 12/23 with someone else. We showed up 1.5 hours before close and we could tell they were irritated. We work in food service and figured oh well, it's still an hour and a half. Ordered the same thing, Mongolian beef. I asked why I wasn't offered rice this time and he was like, "its a dollar do you want it" I told him how my last visit was different and he just seemed annoyed by me. Then we got our food, and my dish was on a small leaf plate, completely different than last time. I made a comment about this too and his attitude was like, oh well... so we ate. Then we heard him talking about my comments to the rest of the staff and laughing at us. Which pissed me off. When we were ready to pay, he made a snide little comment like "oh do you want to go over your receipt to make sure it's correct?" My partner was really mad about how condescending it was. We shouldn't have tipped him at all but we absolutely hate not tipping. The guy with the piercings on his eyes was a jerk. We are the type of people who were looking to tip someone big for Christmas and this was disappointing. At the very least, keep your food in consistent dishes and make sure your servers know what they're offering. Also, if a customer is being nice, just make it right, go above and beyond. Why not? It's good customer service. Now I'll never go back. At least not to burlington. And the impatience at us coming in 1.5 hours before close was...

A year later update:

I've decided to update my review, lowering from a 5 star to a 2 star. Which saddens me. This spot still has consistently fine food but I will only be eating via carry-out from now on. The service has gone from great to shockingly bad.

My experience: After 10 minutes of waiting for someone to take our bill/card we head to the front desk (this may not seem like a long time but we had been waiting over an hour for food and have two kids under 5) only to find the card machines had gone down. After anothwr 15 minutes, my wife flags down a host to ask if we should get cash, the manager came over and big shocker the machines had been working - they left my wife standing waiting and no one apologized and in fact they instead had attitude .

Absolutle failure on their part. I've been a customer since this place opened in the Valley and this single experience is enough for me to stop recommending Asian1. I'll leave my original review below, it was fairly glowing. How far this place has fallen. A year ago the staff were far nicer and had actual customer service skills.

Excellent location for any event, date to family gathering. Menu has a great selection of dishes from multiple Asian cultures. Customization is available for nearly every dish, not just heat/spice and meat options; substitute a low-carb friendly sauce for example.

Used to have a very generous Happy Hour, however their best deals are focused around lunch time. Lunch specials are excellent portions for the price.

Staff is generally friendly and fast. Frequent this location often for dine-in...
