Our experience at Bistro de Margot was truly one of a kind and easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. We were traveling with our 10-month-old daughter, and they could not have been more accommodating. Not only did they offer a high chair right away and assist with our stroller storage, but they even went the extra mile by bringing out a little something extra for her to enjoy. It’s rare to find a restaurant that caters so well to families with young children, and it made the entire evening that much more enjoyable for us.
The staff were all incredibly friendly, and it was clear that customer service is a top priority here. Every waiter who came by was genuinely interested in how we were doing, and we never felt rushed or like we were just another table. What really stood out to us was when the chef himself came out to speak with us. He took the time to ask about our experience, how we were enjoying the meal, and even shared a bit about the dishes and the inspiration behind them. This personal touch made us feel valued and appreciated, which is something you don’t often see in many places.
And then there’s the food – absolutely phenomenal! Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, and presented beautifully. It was clear that a lot of care and attention goes into every plate that leaves the kitchen. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything was just delicious. The quality of the ingredients and the expertise in preparation was evident in every bite. This was the kind of meal where you savor every flavor and genuinely feel like you’re experiencing something special. It’s been a long time since we’ve had food this good.
I can confidently say that every penny we spent was more than worth it. Bistro de Margot delivers not only on the food but also on the experience. We left the restaurant feeling full, happy, and completely satisfied. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, whether you’re a couple looking for a nice night out or a family dining with children. They make it work effortlessly for everyone. Without a doubt, the next time we are in Burlington, we will be sure to make a reservation here again. It was an all-around incredible experience that we won’t forget...
Read moreThe food here was phenomenal, every dish paired with a perfect side and garnish and delivered with a personal touch. The dining area wasn't too crowded and quiet enough to enjoy a pleasant conversation over a bottle of wine. I felt like there was some room for some additional decor, however the large street-side window and centerpiece worked well with the dining atmosphere.
The meats were tender and cooked to the exact specifications desired, and the flavors stacked on top of each other with grace. The wine service the waitstaff provided was professional and served to enhance our meal. We were paid enough service to never need to wait for a refill or to have our dishes cleared. Time between each course was extraordinary, and it never felt like we were being pestered or overwhelmed. It seems our shellfish allergy was also paid to close mind when we ordered.
As soon as we were seated, I noticed the chef going around and asking every table how they enjoyed their meal. This is an exemplary service that not many restaurants in the Burlington area offer. I was excited to talk after our meal was complete to share our feedback. I was, however, disappointed that this opportunity was missed on us. It seemed the tables next to us provided greater interest, as patrons entered and orders after us and were spoken to before their third course was delivered. As excited as I was to chat with the chef only to be disappointed, I must revoke some service stars, as it weighed on my mind heavily...
Read moreWe dinned there last night. Very quaint, super clean setting. Nice gray leather cushioned back seating. It took 20 minutes after being seated , before the waitress would come back to our table to get a drink order. The table was set to French perfection, with a nice crisp table cloth, glasses, and nice flatware. The wine pour was good, only one chard on the list that was by the glass. The Escargo was bland, lacked garlic. The black dish it was served in also looked unappetizing . The scallop entree came only with 3, a fourth would be better for the price. The mussels were excellent. And the steak , which was on the small side, was done to perfection. The French fries were good, made there, but short little fries. One big miss was the bread. It was very chewy. I really was hoping for a nice soft French baguette. And for a French restaurant , a few basic things would have made a big difference with the ambiance. Like some French music. There was no music for the first hour we were there. Then some soft American music came on. Also none of the wait staff spoke any French. Even just having the host say " bonjour!" Would have been a nice touch. The chef did send out a little sample of green soup, which was ok. The desserts were excellent, all made there, and made...
