Devil Takes a Holiday is by far the best cocktail bar around. I have worked in restaurants and bars my whole life and have never seen the creativity, passion and drive that the team at Devil Takes a Holiday has. The cocktails are so out of the box and absolutely delicious. My partner and I take a few trips to Burlington every year and this bar is a must visit every time. We visited about a week and a half ago and to my surprise, by boyfriend (now Fiancé) proposed to me at the lake and decided to plan a little surprise at the Devil immediately following. My Fiancé worked with Taylor ahead of time and had the cutest little set up at the bar. The Devil Takes a Holiday played a big part in one of the best days of our lives. Sincerely, thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make our day so special. See you in September for our next Burlington visit! Cheers, Laurie and Ed

Went in late for a drink. We were told we could grab a seat at the bar, sat down and got settled then were asked to move to the end of the bar rather than sit in the middle incase a larger group came. I get it…I wasn’t upset with moving, but it would have been nice to have not gotten settled and then moved. We had to wait ten minutes before being asked what we wanted to drink. That aside, once we were assisted the bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful. The drinks we ordered were top notch cocktails and that was reflected in the price as it’s a bit high, but it’s worth a visit for sure. We didn’t eat, but the guy beside me really seemed to enjoy his wings and they looked really good. I would just say it wasn’t the most warm welcome for out of towners.

Just a fun wine/cocktail bar. You could have told me this place was in mile end or the plateau in Montreal I would have believed you. Great wine list, with a bunch of interesting, out of the box choices, with natural wines or unusual grape varieties or strange country/state of origin. We were hooked on the house lambrusco, and stopped here twice in two nights. Friendly, helpful service. No food on premises, but you can order flatbreads from next door. Prices are a bit upscale, but for the eclectic styles it's worth it if you're into wine. But if you're not, the cocktails looked good, and they have a few craft beer taps and a few bottles/cans. Ambiance is sophisticated but fun. We had a great time here. Definitely a good first date kind of place.

My girlfriend and I were visiting Burlington for a few days and we went here for some late night bites and cocktails... we were not disappointed. (despite Burlington being full of good bars we went back literally the next night lol)

It was full when we arrived but the turnover was quick and we got a spot after only a few minutes. Despite being busy the staff were attentive, very fast and clearly were enjoying themselves and gave excellent service. The atmosphere was e l e c t r i c with super loud music, lots of laughs and conversations and just great decor and lighting.

Food came out super fast, we shared the waffle fries, the chicken sandwich (both in the normal way they come on the menu, none of the extra offerings) and some olives and all of it was perfect.

Drinks were INCREDIBLE, both my girlfriend and I bartend in the Boston area and we were very impressed with the creativity and execution of the drinks on the menu and the drinks we ordered off the menu. Banging. No notes. I was VERY impressed.

Ugh, these are the types of bars I wish I could work in or live right by as I would be in several times a week. I love where I work, but this place makes me want to move up to Burlington and beg these managers for a job.

Very well done guys, as I understand the bar in its current state with the new kitchen is not more than a few months old... keep it up. This was FANTASTIC. I never really review places, but I had to for y'all. Sorry this is a bit scatterbrained, but this place rocks. Go go go go go go if you can.

Cheers, Devil...

Prior to our most recent visit, I would have written that there were not enough stars to adequately describe this place. It has some of the most interesting and inventive cocktails that we’ve had anywhere in New England. During our first three visits the staff was extremely friendly to us and our kid. They clearly take their craft very seriously and were only too happy to geek out with us about the drinks and the industry. It was also a great place to go with a toddler because it was relatively easy for one of us to take him outside to walk around on the sidewalk if he lost patience with watching his parents consume delicious and beautifully crafted cocktails.

Sadly, the last time we walked in the door we were summarily turned away from the mostly empty bar at 5 o’clock on a Sunday because we had our 20 month old with us (just as we had with every previous visit). This is extremely unfortunate because we do not live anywhere close to Burlington, so not being able to bring our kid with us pretty much means we can’t go...
