It's been 2 years since my last visit to Bill's and my one star review. If I could give this place zero stars and use profanity in my review I would. My wife thought after 2 years that maybe Bill's would have gotten their stuff together, they haven't. I called in an order which was supposed to take 25-30 min. so I got there right at 30 min. My order was ready behind the counter but it took another ten minutes to get it. In this ten minutes I watched as two customers brought their incorrect orders back and as the girls behind the counter sent another order back to the kitchen because it wasn't right before it went out. I checked my order to make sure everything was in the bag (forgetting all about the 2 kids Sprites I didn't receive) and left. The "boneless chicken wings" are actually chicken nuggets with sauce on them now (they were much larger before). And as for my triple meat chili cheeseburger, I appreciate that they put the chili in a separate container for my take out order but the tub of nacho cheese sauce instead of grated cheese was ridiculous. But the worst part of it all was the fact that they accidentally put mustard on my burger then wiped it off the top patty and the top bun and sent it out. If the cook makes a mistake like that then they could have just cooked another top patty and put it on a fresh bun but instead they decided to alienate another customer. The only good thing to come of this is the fact that now my wife agrees with me about never eating at Bill's Burgers again.

Ye olde greasy spoon spots like this are usually pretty good, but this place is awesome. Huge, delicious burgers, excellent buns. Gobs of bacon on the burger... I don't even eat that much bacon at breakfast Onion rings we're a little under cooked but tasty. Also I got the half size. Half size is more than enough. The wife got the half size fries, again, more than enough. Food comes out fast and hot. Also got the mango Margarita. They said they blend the fruit fresh. Best Mango Margarita I've ever had. Not very sweet at all, just fruity-boozy deliciousness. And the prices are extremely reasonable. This place rocks!

Oh my. As a Cajun Chef, this place is LEGIT. First, the onion rings were homemade, crispy and hot. Some of the best that I have ever eaten. Second, the hand-cut fries were decadent. They were also HOT and cooked to perfection. I dipped both the onion rings and fries in their homemade seasoned ranch dressing. Lastly, I ordered the "Maw Maw" burger. OMG it was big and delish. If you are in Burnet, Tx or passing through on 281, YOU NEED TO STOP HERE. Make no mistake, I am very critical on food reviews, and this place deserves every 6 stars not 5. Booyah

(Updated 1/2022) We’ve been super disappointed with Bill’s lately. Understandably a lot of restaurants have been affected by the supply chain, but Bill’s is kinda a disaster. If you call ahead to check if they have a menu item, you will be told something different when you arrive - and there’s a very good chance you’ll also find the actual menu item has been changed or restructured.

Even prior to “the events” that have occurred in the world of late, their wing menu was a mess. Most people understand that the more wings you buy in quantity, the cheaper per wing price you should pay. But not at Bill’s. They didn’t offer anything above a 30 piece when I called (I needed 50) and told me it would have to be rung up as two 20s and a 10 - which significantly raised the price per wing to more expensive than the 30. Regardless, we always call ahead now before getting wings (though I will never do a large order through them again) and are 50/50 on whether they even have them, but if they do, they no longer allow you to order anything over an 8 piece MEAL. You cannot order 12 wings. You cannot order 20 wings. You cannot even order 8 wings, unless you order it as the full meal with fries and a drink. The liberties they take with always changing the menu make it unreasonably complicated to order here with a larger family or group so we no longer find ourselves stopping by or recommending them to friends. There are better options that don’t require so much legwork just to order when you like off the (unchanging) menu. I’ll update again if we stop by sometime without it being a giant headache.

(Posted May 2021) I am so glad we finally tried bills burgers! The location is perfect to dine with young kids, as the outdoor seating is very accommodating space-wise. The access to the walking path along the creek below is also great for an after dinner stroll. My favorite is their veggie burger and sides of fries/onion rings. Their prices are reasonable and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to eat out as a family with...

This restaurant has many opportunities for improvement and our experience was mixed. From the menu to outdoor seating, places like this typically get just one chance to wow visitors, and we left disappointed.

The good: We very much enjoyed the customer service, quick ordering and speedy kitchen. Our order was accurate and hit our table hot and fast. When we asked for additional dipping sauce, the request was immediately filled. Fountain drinks were adequately bubbly. The burgers were ample and the serving size was plentiful.

The not-so-good: Our issues centered primarily around cleanliness, and what appeared to be a lack of disorganization or preparation. We understand this is a straightforward, uncomplicated restaurant frequented by locals that grills burgers, but noted opportunities for improvement.

— The breading on the fried pickles was not thoroughly cooked; tasted like sand. — Greasy, sticky floors. Is there a larger concern with facility/kitchen ventilation, or is it a lapse in cleaning oversight? Unsure. — Propane for the outdoor heaters would have been useful on a chilly day. Being told the propane had run out like we just needed to accept it was frustrating. — The employee-only side door directly across the swinging gate needs a dampener to stop the deafening crash that occurs whenever it opens and closes. Employees should be cognizant about customers on the patio. — Speaking of the patio layout, why do employees take their breaks at tables next to customers eating food? Somewhat inappropriate to be within earshot of bickering, complaining or details about what so-and-so is doing tonight. — Milkshakes missing from the menu? No fried mushrooms? Please consider adding and revamping.

Overall, we chose this spot because of the outstanding reviews, but ultimately found food that did not impress. We may not return for a while, but look forward to the day...

Locally owned and operated with great FREE live music featuring local and regional artists 2 nights a week! Everything is homemade, fresh and cooked to order. Wings have been a favorite because they are the larger better quality wings and not the wimpy ones you find at the other “wing” places. Recently the Spicy Chicken Sandwich has been the go-to! (There is a reason why Chick-fil-A and Popeyes don’t allow this sandwich in their debate over the best chicken sandwich) Want a good delicious margarita? Several signature recipes available and they are mixed just right! Beer is cold with plenty of choices for any beer drinker to be satisfied with the selection. Carnival style corn dogs on the kids menu is a family favorite! Fresh cut fries with a unique seasoning that excites the taste buds. Homemade ranch that sets the bar for how ranch should taste! Hand breaded onion rings that rival any onion ring you’ve ever had. The owners are great people! Amber is super polite and witty and you can tell she definitely runs the show. Her husband Max is the curator of the delicious from scratch recipes and his beard game is on point. We frequent the original Burnet location but have enjoyed the newest location in Lampasas, especially their covered patio. Last but not least the burgers are promoted by Texas Monthly for a reason! Large selection starting with your classic burger to several unique signature burgers built to satisfy any food expert. If you come with an appetite for an appetizer, the chips that come with Queso, Guacamole and Salsa is sure to please. You won’t be...
