I would describe my experience at J's Family Restaurant on Cliff as...a delightfully delicious experience all the time, evertime!! Although I have always enjoyed the, Breakfast Skillets, there are three (hashbrowns, cheese, not one but two over medium eggs, always prepared to perfection with your choice of Bacon, Sausage or Ham.) I have found their, Goulash, Turkey and Beef with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, with Cranberries and their Corned Beef Hash very tasty also. This is, "Down Home Cooking," at its finest guaranteed! The service is as equally fantastic. This is a family business serving family style favorites. Regardless what you choose to order whether it be breakfast, lunch or , "J's Daily Specials." It is in the Strip Mall where Star Donuts is located. It is a must try, I know you will become a regular and part of the "J's Family." Promise me you will give it a try, you will NOT be dissapointed. Oh, did I mention their endless fresh pot of freshly made coffee is definitely something to shout about...
Read moreAfter seeing many rave reviews about this place, my friend and I were eager to have brunch at J's Restaurant. Unfortunately, we didn't get to have brunch. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken after getting some beverages, but that was the extent of the service and the food that we received. The kitchen seemed to be severely backed up, as we only saw a handful of meals get to other customers while we were waiting. Seeing all these other positive reviews, I can only assume that our experience was an outlier and service isn't normally that slow. I'm giving it 2 stars because I felt bad for the wait staff who likely had to deal with the other customers who were loudly talking about how they weren't going to leave tips whenever they...
Read moreHorrible service. Old lady with blonde ponytail was very rude. Eating on the job and yelling at her coworkers. We heared her say "politeness went out the window" loud enough to hear at are table. We waited over 10 minutes to get greeted, only because a table next to us got greeted by a young man server 5 minutes after they sat down and I had to say wait a minute we have been here a lot longer. Absolutely horrible service. Rude and condensing old lady with blonde ponytail and glasses. No smile, no customer service skills. Busses have frowns on their faces. Wow - whoever is the owner needs to clean house. Hire people that have customer service experience. I will not be back. Too bad - I have been in the restaurant industry for 16 years and always tip well. I know a lot of people in the area and will tell them all to avoid this place...
