Walking into the restaurant, we were initially confused; there was a sign stating, "Pick-Up Orders Pay In Back." There were no other signs indicating what to do if you wanted to dine in, some restaurants have you seat yourself while others bring you to your table.
After waiting a couple minutes a gentleman brought us to a table that was dirty and asked if we would wait while he set up for us. They were horribly short staffed. This being said, the couple who dined with us were getting quite impatient. It was not our waiter's fault that he had to attend to the entire restaurant. Thus we waited mostly patiently for our food.
The food was more than worth the wait! We ordered Cream Cheese Wontons. They were by far thee best cream cheese wontons I've ever had, and that is saying a lot! They were even served with a special sweet and sour sauce with miniature spoons. For our entrees, my partner ordered Seafood Tom Yum and I ordered Beef Pad Thai. I was overwhelmed by how much food there was! Each entree was large enough to share between two people. The Tom Yum was a soup, but it had a great deal of substance to it; there was an adequate broth to seafood ratio. Plus it was served in a hot pot, it was kept warm the entire time we were there! I had never seen that before. The Pad Thai was served to me with a carrot peel shaped into a 3D butterfly. It looked so pretty! The taste of the dish was even better than the presentation of it. They really do have the best Pad Thai in Minnesota!
My only complaint about the food was that it was cold by the time it got to our table. I understand that sometimes you get short-handed, but it does start to affect your business.
Because of the long wait time, the warm instead of hot food, and minimal check backs for water refills, I would give a 2 or 3 star rating. BUT the quality of the food absolutely deserves a 5 star rating!
What would I recommend? To-Go/Pick-Up!!! unless you can and will be patient if they are short staffed. The food...
Read moreI came in with a group of coworkers today (group of 7). We were seated reasonably quickly - our waiter helped us by pushing two tables together. Our orders were taken efficiently and within a reasonable amount of time to look over the menu.
All of us got something off the lunch menu. The lunch menu is 9 assorted rice and curry dishes that can be purchased at a reduced price during lunch. They also come with an option of 2 spring rolls or 2 egg rolls.
Overall, our customer service was good. One thing that I personally didn't like but I can see other people enjoying is the playful banter aspect of our interaction with our waiter. He joked about predicting what spice level each of us would order our food, and a few other things. My personality is reserved, so I didn't care for that as much. But since I can see others finding it engaging and funny, I wouldn't take points away on my review for it.
The reason this place only gets 3 stars in my book is the quality of the food. The general consensus around the table is that it was just OK. The spring rolls are bland and unappetizing. I'd recommend against getting those. But everything else was just OK. Not bad...just OK. One person's meal was served about 10 minutes before the rest of the meals. I'm not sure why that happened, but it did. Just another thing to keep in mind.
Overall, I'm pretty neutral about my experience here. Service was good - I have no complaints about that. Food quality was average or maybe a tiny bit below. Overall, this isn't a place I would steer people away from - but neither is it a place I'll actively seek out to...
Read moreWell, we’ve been regulars here for over 5 years, and we honestly have yet to be disappointed! Seriously. The service can get a little busy on a Friday night, but come planning for conversation or with friends and you won’t even notice! The food is absolutely on point - every time.
We’ve been here twice in the last 5 days, and introduced friends to this place today! The Pad Thai (chicken) is still my go-to, while my wife favors the Pad Woon Sen, and this evening I was reminded how terrific the green curry is!! So good. Also, a new favorite (pictured) is the Thai Tea. We also get their papaya salad almost weekly... haha!! So good!
Our formerly 5 year old is almost 10, and loves this place too! We almost always order extra so we can bring home leftovers. It might even be better the next day (and that is saying something!)
If you haven’t given this place a look yet - don’t wait. You’ll be so happy you came!
———————————————————- Original review (circa 2016):
Amazing Thai food. The Chicken Pad Thai, Pad Wun Sen, Beef Fried Rice (pick your spice), Lad Naa, Green Curry, Tom Yum Soup, and Cream Cheese Wantons are all favorites of ours! My wife is an amateur chef, and we are the kind of people who have gotten so fed up with inauthentic Thai food that we just usually make it at home ourselves, but this place is right on par with our homemade (and very exacting) standards. We have neighbors who are from Thailand, and even they recommend this establishment.
Our 5 year old even asks to come here for the fried rice. Very large portions, and...
