My family and I usually go here to eat and everything has always been good. But lately the service has been slacking. Today I put in an order for 4 cold cut banh mis for pick up and mind you I always did this with no issues before. I was running an hour late but called them to tell them I was 10 mins away and apologized for running late. Only to find out that they gave my orders away and they ran out of bread to make it. I am 9 months pregnant and I am beyond pissed off. Their reasons why they gave my order away was because she didn't take down my number when I placed my order for her to call me back to make sure I was still picking it up and because I was running late. Mind you when I called the second time the guy was able to call me back to see where they were at with the banh mis and he didn't ask for my phone number because he had a caller ID he was able to call back too. So the girl that took my order on the phone couldn't even have done that and called me back or at least taken down my phone # afterwards or hung up. When she realized she didn't even grab it beforehand ? Maybe she should start asking for names and numbers for order pick ups so this doesn't happen again. That isn't my job to do but this is very unprofessional and lack of service for them to do and to waste my time. I expected to have this order ready for me since I called ahead of time . I haven't ate anything all day and was excited to eat this. They said they had to literally drive to St. Paul to pick up bread. Disappointed as this is around 1pm-2pm when people are hungry and coming in for lunch and they ran out of bread to make banh mis? I told them I had to hurry back and get to work so this is all inconvenient for me right now. I went to the store myself to see what was going on and why this happened. They apologized yet but had no good reasons on why they gave my order away. They said the bread should be here in 15 mins so I am currently waiting although I should have too my money elsewhere. Currently waiting to see how this is taken care of because this shouldn't have happened in the first place. Finally got my banh mi after waiting for 40 mins when I got there. They couldn't even compensate me with a discount or at least throwing an extra banh mi in or anything for the inconvenience that they caused me today. . I WILL NOT BE RETURNING here no longer due to the lack of service and professionalism of how they handled things. You're better off going to Lus sandwiches in Minneapolis. And there's better Asian restaurants around . I DO NOT RECOMMEND! And don't order any pick up because they will most likely...
Read morePositive: We ordered Cơm tấm bì sườn chả, mỳ bò kho, phở , bún bò Huế. Only the first two orders were tasty. Their Phở and Bun Bo Hue are just ok, not impressive. The waitress was very friendly. Negatives: my husband and all of us went to the cashier to pay. The cashier was so busy, after We told her our table then she gave my husband a receipt with No itemized and a spot to put tip. My husband Had no idea that tip was automatically charged in the total of the payment so be put tips in the tip section. After He signed, the cashier handed to him a copy. From started to the end, there was one mentioned to us That the tip was automatically charged into our bill.
We walked away with the receipt and my husband still thinking why the total is $75 . We wondered if the tip was I voided into the total price and they didn’t tell us so we gave more tip?
I decided to check with the owner and she told us that they’re already mentioned that in the menus that 18% tip will be automatically charged into the bill for any table with 4 guests and up. We didn’t see that. The owner also mentioned that the cashier had already mentioned that to us and showed us the itemized while we are paying. ( we didn’t hear anything and didn’t see the itemIe). She went to her staff and came back to us said that the waitress is very sure that she did mentioned to us that the bill is already Included the tip. This is not honest.
We don’t mind to give them more tip but we expected them to be upfront . I believed that there is no law for the automatically charge for tip. Plus, they are not honest.
We husband is their customer for years. They should not do that to us. I told her to check her camera again to see if the cashier has showed the itemized to us or not but she refused to do that and said she will train her staff again.
Food is good, service is good except for the charge. No one want to pay for the hidden prices. And they need...
